I wouldn't recommend that spot it's a really small parking see my picture i circled it in green, full of fisherman and it smell awful rotten fish and thrash , there's a paved parking but it's the hotel place i circled in red, if you have a 4x4 the beach is the best otherwise the street parking in front of the old building at the start of the trail 2x4 accessible easily.

We stayed in the parking near the beach. No body bother us.
Perfect spot for hiking and watch the sunset!
We bought fish filet for diner from the fisherman (50 pesos).

Report Check-In

We came about 3 PM and got a fresh fish for 20 pesos. Everyone was really nice.

Be aware that the photos are old and that the area seen with the red RV is now fenced off for private access to boats and the parking area is very limited. Also, the picture of the vehicle in front of the rocks is really not possible at this point because all of the boats now take up that space it’s beautiful but your unlikely going to be parking on the beach. Also, the entrance to the beach has deteriorated and you will need a serious four-wheel-drive to get down from the parking area onto the beach and back.

This spot is a beach access parking lot. The beach is open with quite a bit of activity. If you go, take the more northern road that goes through the San Cristobal hotel parking area. This is the way almost everyone comes & goes to the beach. The southern road had a flooded area just before the beach while we were there. We saw a few people drive through the water with higher vehicles or 4x4s but we didn’t - it’s unnecessary. If the beach parking is full or you want something a little quieter you can take the low road in & there’s space for parallel parking on the road by what looks like a large old building with no roof (it was before the flooded section & is the trailhead for the hike to the old port, also tagged on iOverlander). Be careful! Check your spot before parking- some areas are soft. We spent a very quiet night in front of the old building. No issues, felt safe.

The beach is officially closed due to COVID 19. I checked it out and am not sure exactly where you could camp, besides in the parking lot, which is not that appealing.

We drove there almost to the end but the little hump up to the end was such deep ruts and once up there (my husband got out and walked up to look it over) there was very little place to park without ruts so we turned around and didn't stay. We saw two RV's coming out as we drove in so we think they also turned around because you don't usually see ones coming out at 4:30.

Fresh fish at 4 PM.

Will filet for you! Two red snapper filleted 200 pesos

Camped right out in the beach. Just beautiful, one of my favorite spots so far. Ate dinner in the nearby hotel one night, expensive but good.

We camped at the sandy beach where the fishermen launch their boats at 6 am. It is deep sand, so 4 WD is a must to go down. There was a sea lion at the rocks to the left, many gulls and pelicans around and a humpback whale just 200 yards offshore. It is very interesting seeing the fishermen driving full speed on the sandy beach with their boats when they return with their catch between 3 and 6 pm. You can buy the fish directly out of the boat. After 7 pm it was very quiet.

very nice place as described, the fish bought directly from the fishermen when they return between 15 and 17h00 is excellent. after two nights spent on site the security of the hotel came to ask us to leave the premises the next day before the night, without any specific reason.

Report Check-In

Dirty parking lot close to a 5 stars hotel, right on the beach where fishermen leave at 7 am and come back at 4 pm.
They sell their fresh fish.
Stayed 2 night there but we're asked to move by the hotel tenants, telling us the parking was their property and that we couldn't stay one more night

dirt lot next to hotel but right on huge sandy beach, good fishing from the beach. Fireworks on the beach for a private event at the hotel last night.

Report Check-In

Exactly as described. Maps.me says the road ends but it doesn't. Still 2wd accessible. Excellent sunset views. (BYOB, the hotel wants 80p for a beer).

Report Check-In

quiet remote spot, there are fresh tire tracks but no one around.
steep sandy beach
two wheel drive with clearance ok if you know how to drive in sandy areas.

Report Check-In

Big unpaved parking lot next to the fishermen place, a hotel is nearby. Very nice place and view, quiet at night. We were lucky to see some whales. It is possible to buy fresh fish directly from the fishermen when they return in the afternoon.
