Description

This bridge is limited to 3.5 ton and a height of about 2.75 mtr.
Locals will tell you that it is the only road to the Kong Lor cave, but there is an alternative route that trucks use.
When you get to the bridge (50 mtr before it) turn sharp left onto the unpaved road.
Follow this road until a junction (about 1 km), turn right and cross the (narrow) bridge. You now enter a village, stay on the main road untill you see a clear road going right (with many truck tracks on the ground).
Go right and follow this (about 1 km). It will cross the river when it is just a little stream. Watch out for big pointy rocks in the riverbed. (we punctured our ac-radiator on one).
Now follow the (very dusty) track (1 or 2 km). It will emerge at the other end of the bridge.

Bridge with height beam at 2,5m at N 18.16955 E 104.54391. 10km diversion possible for the big rigs.
Follow the dirt road on the left just before the bridge. Turn right at 18.18456 E 104.54820 and cross the hydraulic bridge. Turn right again at N 18.789 E 104.55053.
At the fence N 18.16927 E 104.54951 don't go go on the narrow path that leads to the village. Honk and wait for the owner to come and open it. You will exit just after the bridge.
Be careful the owner may ask for an unreasonable price. We paid 50 000LAK for 2 big rigs.

Report Check-In

Bridge height at 2,5m and 3tonnes. It can probably handle much more weight but the height beam is welded and locked so it cannot be moved up.
The loop to go around is difficult on the last 100m. It damaged a 7m Iveco but a Mercedes sprinter could do it easily. Other solution is to negotiate with locals to open the gate on the nearby field and avoid the last 100meters.

Report Check-In

Height is 2.75 meter approx.
With our 2.95 campervan we could not pass through.
Tried the detour but stopped after the village as road too tough for a normal campervan.
Will try hitch hiking tomorrow to see the cave :)

Report Check-In

With some wooden beams they heightend it up till 3,00 meter.
