Nice hike! True is more of a stairway climb than walking but we liked it. We went just past the laguna mirador to the lake itself. We took 3 hours to return with brakes. In total the route was 6km to the lake itself, less to the mirador.

Report Check-In

We didn't hike this because the reviews made it seem like not worth the effort -- BUT at the first .5km a beautiful bridge overlooking a tall waterfall, worth the short walk up to see it.

Report Check-In

tough but nice hike, I agree the views arent so stunning but jts more about the hike, the forest is great. I agree it shouldnt take more than 3 hours return to an average hiker with brakes, we did it in 2h without much of brakes on a rainy day.

Report Check-In

ca. 450 m ascending. Steep stairs.
For an average Hiker the tour (up +down) shouldn't take longer than 3 hours with breaks.
the last part after the Laguna-Mirador isn't worth it, there is nothing to see.
the path itself is a beautiful, mostly wooden path through a rainforest.

Report Check-In

The ranger at the conaf office in Caleta Gonzalo suggested us to do this hike BUT we were quite disappointed about the views at the top. What you see from the lake is very narrow. Be aware, the mirador place at the top is not mentioned, we walked until the camping (where the view is ridiculous) before realising we had passed the mirador.
As said before slippery, but nice time in the evergreen forest !

Report Check-In

Nice hike but definitely lots of stairs. As with other hikes, the wood is fairly slippery and a good amount of the step ladders are missing the handles - did slip and fall a few times. The viewpoint is nice- we didn’t head all the way down to the lake as it started to rain pretty hard. A little under an hour from the start to the laguna mirador.

Report Check-In

This trail leads over a lot of stairs through a regrowing Alerce forest to the Laguna Tronador, which is known for its circular shape.

Duration: approx. 4 hours return
Distance: approx. 4.8 kilometres return
Difficulty: moderate-difficult

Report Check-In

A 1.5 km hike up to the lookout point of Laguna Tronador (3km round trip). Very steep hike on a beautiful narrow trail that takes you along a small river canyon a nice suspension bridge, a nice waterfall. Lots and lots of steep steps up to the first lookout point of volcano Michinmahuida which is a little anticlimactic. 10 min further into the trail you’ll descend to the Laguna Tronador platform lookout. Very beautiful and quiet spot to relax and enjoy the view. We really enjoyed this trail.
