Description

I'll preface by saying Do Not try to go west from Brazzaville to Dolisie. About 30-40 mins west on N1 there is a checkpoint that will not let you pass. Google Maps and Maps.me show an alternate route going to Mayama, but this also doesn't exist. The best way to go west is to go about an 1- 1.5 hours north of Brazzaville on the N2 until you get to a roundabout. It clearly marked so you can't miss it. It's a brand new road that will take you smoothly westward. There are some issues though. There are constant speedbumps the more west you go. Not really an issue though. The real annoyance it the amount of military roadblocks there are. I stopped counting after 15. Most were in good spirits and didn't take long to get through. Some will ask for food or money. I had one in particular that wouldn't lower the gate unless I paid them. Luckily they got tired when I kept talking and they couldn't understand me so they let me pass. This is definitely the best way to go and will save you a ton of time and stress.

It is a very quiet space to relax for a night or two. But don't come thinking that the pool is free. If you want to take a dip in the pool it is 10,000 CFA. If you have water to refill and showers. But in general the bar is very good and the food is very good.

Really good road but very expensive. Each gate costs 30.000 xfa for our 6x6 truck. We tried to negotiate, but without success. 😬

Good paved road to Pointe-Noire - no checkpoints - motorcycles don’t pay toll.

Very good road from Brazzaville to Pointe Noire. 6 tolls. 1500 fcfa each for a 4x4. 4/5 hours driving. No checkpoints anymore

Still a good road, only a few check points but lots (6?) of toll stations (15000cfa each time for a 4x4, 2000cfa for a Campervan!)

Indeed a fantastic new road. We came from Ouesso and that road is also fantastic except the last 50km to this point. More hole then road and some parts the road is completly gone (I prefer dirt roads instead of these deep potholes parts)
