Very nice campground; unfortunately Recreation.gov blocks many sites & charges an extra 8$ for the privilege of “reserving online”. This is public land; recreation.gov is a private, for profit company. Many vacant sites marked as unavailable on the website.

Nice forest campground close to Prescott. Some road noise. Restrooms clean, sites clean.

we camped in #13. pit toilets, potable water spigots, and trash dumpsters throughout the campground. they are building new road within campground. they start around 7am but not to noisy. overall beautiful site to campground with access to mountain bike trails

It’s starting to have a bit of a weird vibe here. Quite a few campsites occupied by ‘unhoused’ folks, bathrooms are grubby, not sure if the 14-day limit is being enforced. There is a nice campground host, and we camped in one of the first few campsites when you come in, which felt quite safe.

there are only 3 sites that are first come first serve (pay with cash or check), the rest you have to reserve on recreation.gov and there’s a weird fee on top of the cost of the campsite. thankfully one of the first come first serve sites was available (site #22) and we paid $5 per night thanks to the Interagency Access Pass! it is $10 per night for anyone without specific passes! it’s only 10 mins into town/grocery stores, etc. but you definitely feel tucked away out here! we spent two nights here in late march and had a pleasant experience! each site has a picnic table and fire pit! dog friendly! paved so you don’t risk getting stuck in the mud during rainy season. the trails within the campground are really lovely, through the ponderosa forest—there seemed to be a lot of connecting trails, so you can go as short as a mile loop, to many miles! we were disappointed that the potable water was still turned off for the winter season. had access to the pit toilets—not super clean, but not the worst.

Don’t wait to get here to find a space - go online and reserve a spot, we made that mistake and had to find dispersed camping for a few days until we got the earliest reservation available which also wasn’t easy as spots are few near the town. Clean site with wooded area. Picnic table, fire ring, nice amount of space between the next neighbor-not stacked. Can get noisy with road traffic at the spots by the entrance so further back is recommended. Also, keep an eye on your pets after sunset, we had a pack of coyotes right outside our spot howling and running the premises, really neat to hear but you’d want to be cautious. We would definitely come back again if we visit.

only seven campsites are open in the winter. the ranger we talked to on the phone had no idea about that. other than that it is a nice campsite, as described. water is shut off for the season but toilets are still in use.

Good place to stay, lot of different spot. But the reservation thing is a little confusing to choose a place when you don’t have one.
14$ for a single 28$ for double.
The road is good to access to the campground.
Quiet.

Nice place.
Paid $7 with pass.
There was brush clearing in the area for fire prevention so trails were closed for hiking and biking. Close to town and there were lots of spots to choose from.

Great camping in the cooler Penderosa Pine Forrest 🌲

Clean toilets and potable water available. Only 10min away from Prescott. $ 7,- per night if you have the America The Beautiful Annual Pass.

National Forest Campground. Strictly dry camping with water available onsite. No electric available at all.

Nice and quite small campground in the forest. 10 dollar maybe a bit more in summer season. Near entrance parkinglot for hiking and mountain-biking
