Very beautiful and quiet beach! Stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed the weather. Sea is rough with big waves, so be careful when swimming. The beach is very big and you can explore nice rocks at the northern side! As pointed out before, try to go as far as possible to be less disturbed by other visitors who stay closer to the access road. Most of them leave at the end of the afternoon though so at night you can have the beach for yourself! We didn’t see or hear any monkeys but definitely some iguanas and at night loads of mosquito’s!

We stayed here for a night. Quiet and felt safe. The area is used by locals and tourists during the day and a local said that we should not leave our vehicle open/unlocked when unattended because there have been thefts. But we didn’t have any problems, nothing even a little suspicious. Nice for swimming :)

Nice beach in front of lodges. Not so quiet but no drama. Somme locals come for a beer and listen music. Don't camp at the beginning of the beach because everybody come here in the evening and morning so if you want to be "alone" go at the end of the way ! the view is really nice. There is monkeys in trees on the beach and iguanas. No shower, no restroom. Need to cross 2 rivers to go there.

The small beach called Playa Prieta, is a wonderful beach to stay over night. We stayed one night and felt very safe. Actually there is a prohibition sign, it's forbiden to park directly on the sand, so we stayed in the parking lot.

Beautiful beach to swim. Lots of small pull ins along minor sandy track running parallel to Playa Penca. We camped 3/4 way along. Peaceful night, bit buggy (but that’s to be expected), stunning sunset and breakfast on the beach to ourselves.

Not so large which makes it quiet during the night, is right on the beach, shade from the trees around, no mosquitoes and there was no breeze. The road to get is a dirt road that can be acceded by any car

Any car can reach this spot, I don't know why the 4x4 recommendation. Beautiful beach with shade, some friendly locals comes to see the sunset and spend the day.

Cualquier vehículo puede llegar a este, lugar, no sé por qué la recomendación de 4x4. La playa es hermosa y con sombra. Algunos locales muy amables van a ver la puesta del sol y a pasar el día.

Beautiful wild camping spot on the beach. No facilities but a beautiful beach for swimming and relaxing. Some shade if you park back in the trees. Be careful with the soft sand...easy to get stuck with heavier vehicles. Beautiful spot but the breeze died down each night so it was very hot and humid when we went...wish I’d brought a fan for the tent! Also, you may hear some noise at night from the nearby hotels but nothing too loud...just some music in the distance.

As others described, it’s a mostly empty beach during the day. Just after sundown some people (I believe locals) were walking around with flashlights for a few hours, concentrated at the far end of the beach by the rocks. I think they were just fishing.

I had thought that there was no access from the far end of the beach, but it turns out locals do walk through this beach at dusk. I’d recommend staying about two thirds of the way down and out of sight from the beach. In any case, an American local told me “super safe place, wouldn’t hesitate to camp there” and I had a nice time. AND, bioluminescence at night if you swim out about 25 metered :)
