Latest Check-Ins

Maybe we were at a different ablutions block, but the one for the camping area to the left was more than OK. There are power, water, bins and little braai stands. The view over the lake is amazing. Great place to just relax.

Price - R100 pp/n
How to Book - No booking, check-in at reception between 8-5
Unique things - Wildlife in the camp area, buck wondering around, lots of birds, battlefield tour with Heron Battlefield tours was definitely worth it
Ablutions - Not great, could be better, falling apart, cleaned daily though and ask the reception to insure the hot water is working, the first night the pilot fire wasn't lot on the gas geyser
Better sites - All pretty good, a lot of them aren't level, try to get a level spot
Access - Road 5/10 but only 1.5km from the reception to campsite
Internet - Not too bad, can stream
Other notes - can buy wood at reception, staff are friendly

We liked it here. Busy, but nice vibe. Ablution block old but immaculate. Lovely views across lake. Beware: wild animals here - Rhino behind ablution block day before we arrived. R180 for two (one pensioner).

Beautiful fishing and boating dam. Large grassed sites. Ablutions clean but need maintenance. In a nature reserve so lots of birds and wildlife. Dirt road throughout the park for game drives. Can use your Wild Card for entry.

As said before. Other campers during festive season are mainly boat club members or here for fishing. Ablutions outdated but clean. View over the dam is beautiful.

Had the place to ourselves. Hot water only worked in the ladies ablutions but otherwise fine. Plenty of blesboks around and we saw a few giraffes.

Power at sites, big rig accessible, and quiet at night. 180 p2ppn

We came here due to availibility of internet and where pleasently suprised to see at the gate that it was a game reserve. They have different kind of animals, from giraffes, zebras, rhinos and even hyena’s roam through the area.

Grassy Campsites are beautiful situated near the lake with braaifacilities and power. Abulation blocks are close by, but outdated.

Unfortunately no internet except for at the reception which is a km away from the campsite.

Prices:
Entry game reserve R50 pppn
Camping R90 pppn
