We ended up staying in Cuenca for 10 days while our van was repaired by Xavier and his crew. Very good mechanics and really nice that Xavier speaks English. He listens and helps think of solutions when it’s not a standard repair.

Awesome shop and like others have said: he charges an honest fee for his jobs. Would recommend this shop to everyone.

Good shop, I got an axle and hub installed while in town. I had gotten the parts myself but Javier and crew did the install. It was $60 bucks and took about 5 hours. Plus, a few days later I went back and they gave it a second look. One month later and everything is still doing fine. Vehicle is a Ford Transit, AWD. The Ford dealer in town couldn’t do the job.

Amazing mechanic with so much patience! He worked on our suspensions and brakes and we kept coming back until everything was fixed. He really helped us and accommodated us a lot. Good for old and new vans! He has a high roof and fits large rigs.

Xavier and his team of 3 mechanics were very efficient in solving a few technical niggles on our Land Rover Defender. Great, helpful, English speaking and friendly - recommended without hesitation.

Xavier and his mechanics are great people. we actually spent nearly 2,5months here while rebuilding our engine (mainly because it took ages to get the parts, that were sent from europe, free from customs)
Xavier and the mechanics are knowledgeable. He has alot of connections throughout Cuenca and will most likely be able to find or repair what you need.
He speaks fluently English and makes for a great host if you spend some more time. In the time we were here several overlanders came here for repairs (which is most cases got solved) and slept here.
if you need a mechanic in Cuenca, don't hesitate to come here!

Very trustworthy place! Xavier let us know exactly what’s necessary and what has some time before needing repair, so we didn’t feel pressured to repair everything at once. The card reader was down & we had trouble pulling out cash, so he offered for us to pay the next morning - no problem. Everyone working here has good character.

Excellent mechanic, he did a very professionnal job on our Dodge Ram for a very fair price. He also took a long time to make a diagnostic about a weird noise that other mechanic couldn't define. We recommend this place !

Amazing mechanic! Xavier took a look at our check engine light codes, fixed the spark plugs, and then changed our air filter, fixed our steering, and greased up the van to make sure she was running at 100%. Speaks great English as he lived in the US for a few years. Highly recommend! A little expensive but well worth it for us.

drove to cue mnca specifically to see them based on the good reviews here. I have a power issue under load, likely electrical. the guy listened to my motor for 10 seconds, said it was fine and rushed me out the door. Didnt listen to me and clearly didnt want to work on the car. waste of time coming here

Highly recommended! We had our headgaskets replaced here and a number of related issues fixed. Very competent and reliable. Good explanations (rare!), kept us informed about the progress per voice messages and photos. Very nice guy, too!
PS: 6 weeks still very happy with their work

We got good work done here. They are very helpful and started imediately when we arrived in the morning.
We got work on the brakes and some more stuff.
There is a pintura next to it, that can do welding and stuff.
It is right next to a good night spot.
I don't now the price yet, but
Highly recommended!

Highly recommended. Xavier is more than helpful, he came with us to 2 other places to solve our problem. Very reasonable prices and he doesn't push to change if not necessary.

Really good experience. Very helpful and honest, doesn't rip you off. We had our brake pads changed here + disks refurbished and paid 65 dollars incl. parts. Stayed here for one night and he even gave us the wifi password. Really nice and professional guy

Very happy with these guys. In all honesty we didnt get much work done (just wheel bearings on chevy van which were just re-greased and i could've done but wanted to get moving) but they put me first in line and just talking to the main mechanic I felt honesty and knowledge with no bullshit. Indeed there are overlander stickers here and another overlander did some work to there car while we stayed by the river.
Highly recommended. 3 meter height restriction.

Were helped perfectly here! Good English speaking mechanic, really friendly. Changed our steering fluid, some rubbers, our coolant (plus cleaning), cleaned the air filter, changed the diesel filter, checked the battery etc. For 68$. :-) walking distance to several coffee and lunch places, so perfect!

Xavier is our hero. Not only did he check on our car when we were stranded in the middle of Cuenca because it did not start anymore but he then fixed our motor up again and invited us into his home. We had tea with his mum and dinner with his family, on the weekend he took us on an expedition to the countryside. We slept in the garage and enjoyed Cuenca while our car was repaired. Even tho the circumstances were unfortunate, Xavier did everything to make our stay enjoyable.
We only post now to be able to say for sure that the engine works better than before. Xavier and his guys did a perfect job and charged very fairly. We are more than thankful that we ended up here to do such major work on the car.

Fantastic experience. Xavier (the boss) is super helpful and his English is very good. We only needed some new brake pads but we’re struggling to source them for our uk van. He explained all the options, helped hunt around for them and fitted them for just $10 (not inc the $25 for the pads)
Recommended!

Due to mixed reviews nearby we tried this place as it looked decent and was busy with locals in the morning.
Good mechanics, reasonable prices and an amazingly helpful English speaking boss. He discounted our price without me asking and did loads of exploratory work for free. He also invited us to use the bathroom any time or get water.
Open by 8am, closed for lunch 1-2.
Lots of overlander stickers inside (bikes too) despite no-one bothering to add it here. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
