Description

After unsuccessfully searching a spot to park our van, we finally asked an elderly lady where it would be save to park&sleep in the barrio and she pointed out the conservatorio catolica de la musica to us, that has an all night security guard. What a perfect suggestion!!! We drove there and the guard on duty (Carlos, the LOVELIEST man ever!) showed us where to park, let us use the bathrooms, gave us a private tour and offered us coffee and hot water for tea. :D Amazing and interesting man and needless to say that parking here is safer than anywhere else in the city because the guard on duty walks around the building all the time and watches what's going on on the street.
We spent two perfect nights here and left the car parked there during the day. Also during the day, you can always walk in and use the bathrooms as well.

PLEASE leave a tip for the guard (we gave 5.000), so this please remains the safe&perfect overlander spot for years to come.

Little dead end street with only a few spots, it was completely full when we arrived on a Monday at noon. Haven’t seen a guard.

Completely agree to the comments before. Our guard in the school was Antonio. We have also been allowed to use the toilet. In this area there are also a guy everyday helping people to find a parking spot. This guy also watched the car in the evening. We have a fiat Ducato. This is the biggest car to go there. We fit in the last possible spot - which was not really a parking place anymore. In the Night it was more silent as in several other place or as often on campgrounds.

We stayed here 2 nights. We have a big Mercedes Sprinter. Was tricky to find a almost leveled parking lot.
At the moment we arrived there was a guard. Unfortunately we paid him first and then he dissapeared and we never see him again. Just pay him at the end if you feel he works for it. This area is free parking. So don't worry if a random guy ask for money

nice place, our guard Domingo looked after it and we left a tip for leaving the car here all day (10a-7p) of 1500 pesos. no bathrooms shown to us, no coffee or tea haha.

This spot is NOT suitable for big rigs! Avoid the area with big rigs. The roads are much too narrow. It's no fun at all. But it's so nice for a walk!

This is a street parking ! Free! Very safe! In the best barrio of Valpo ! Disfrute!
There is a guard of the catholic’s school! Carlos! Leave a tip please! We left 10 000 pesos for 3 nights to give you un idea.
That’s the place to be when you are iOverlander!!!

In front of a music school in a dead end street.
Quiet and safe because Carlos is there to watch the street !
This man is a jam !
Please give him more than he asks !

Stayed for two nights. The place is exactly as previously described. We had Carlos hosting us. Cool guy!
Left him 8,000 CLP for both nights.

Report Check-In

we spent 2 nights here and seems to be a safe spot.
perfectly located between the concepcion and alegre district.
you do have to be lucky with the guard though. Saturday evening it was John and he was very nice. said we could walk in and use the bathroom any time
from Sunday there was another guard though who wouldn't let us in.
you also have to realise this is street side parking. not a parking lot of the institute.
