Just checking in to say that the site is still excellent and highly recommended! We stayed for two nights and loved the site.
Report Check-InStayed here for 1 night. As it was sunday evening, there were some locals bbq‘ing at the river but left after sunset so we had the place to ourself. In the morning a few atv tour groups came along but it was already past 8am, so totally fine.
There is a toilet and running water.
Nice place but big bugs and insects
Stayed two nights as just perfect spot. A part of the bridge was about 15cm under water but no problems crossing with a 4x4
Report Check-InNice spot! It's quiet at night. During the day (the WE) there are many quads coming here. Swimming in the river is pleasant. On site there is even a tap and toilets. If the water level overflows on the road do not cross it, the concrete path is not straight and there are large pebbles on the edges.
Report Check-InNice spot away from town.
Could be an issue crossing during rainy season. Places to swim. Some light poles guiding drivers ….so campsite has some light also.
About 10 cars when we pulled up and all left at dark. Saw cars and trucks here but any kind of truck would be better.
Stayed 2 nights and only 3-4 vehicles passed after 9pm.
Looks like a great spot! Couldn't cross the river though after some rain, beginning of the rainy season so we parked on the broad road before the river instead for a night, which was fine as hardly anyone comes by
Report Check-InBeautiful place right by the river. A few locals passing by now and then but mostly quiet. Didn’t want to cross the river at night so we stayed up the hill, wide road, even ground. Gentle cows were our only neighbors. Recommended!
Report Check-InAbsolutely lovely place along the river! There is lots of space to camp or for your rig, just choose a spot that suits you. We had a very nice relaxing day playing in the water that isn’t cold at all.
There were several quad tours that passed by during the day. Also several cars and quads were on the road during the day. We also had two cars that randomly stayed in this area for several hours, without any problems. In the night everything was quiet but the jungle sounds 🌱
Would surely recommend! Only beware of the streetlight close to the road, depending on how much light you want you can decide to go a bit inside the trees.
Report Check-InBeau spot pour dormir près de la Fortuna et la réserve du Parc Arenal. Sur le bord de la rivière. Endroit sauvage, sans service. Pour se laver, utiliser la rivière.
Report Check-InFelt safe. Didn’t need 4x4. Quiet at night (on a weekday) busy during the day
Report Check-Inwonderful campsite next to the river. we camped here for one night. nice and quiet with lots of trees, and fire wood available under the shed. no bathrooms as.its.wild camping, but would highly reccomend to camp here for the night.
Report Check-Ingreat place. saw the 🐕 dog it's a she though, so it's "Chiquita". nice spot by the river. very safe
Report Check-InNice spot on the river, quiet and good spot to camp and swim!
we saw the little dog, we call him "chiquito" he is very nice !
Free spot !
Report Check-InVery good wild camping spot! Plenty of room, level, nice river with pleasant temperature to swim, shade all day long, we saw lot of mot-mots, some turkey looking bird and tucans were further downstream. Quad tours passing by as mentioned, park further in the back so they won't drive through your camp. Looks like there is a small dog living there, kind of chihuahua looking mix. She was very timid, always around, but wouldn't come closer to us, hesitantly ate what we gave her, we found out other people left her some dog food too.
Report Check-InEasy road straight north from Barrio Zeta Trece, anything can manage. Even after two days of rain rain rain. The river crossing itself is pretty narrow and the water was rushing but less than a foot deep. I'm not sure a massive big rig would fit across but with a spotter might be OK. Great spot for a free night's camping.
Update - by the morning the level was almost below the bridge and it looks to be about 7 or 8ft wide.
A very nice wildcamping spot! We stayed here three nights. During the day some Quad Tours stop here for some minutes, but we didn‘t care. Quiet during the night, felt very save. Beautiful place and the river is perfect for cooling down ;-) we also saw some small Toucans and a group of small Monkeys! Some mosquitos around but not too bad.
Report Check-InVery nice big space next to the river, that was deep and warm enough to swim. Very nice and tranquil place to sleep and spend a lazy day.
ATV tour with 10+ people came by in the morning, stopped for 10 minutes to take some pictures, then we were alone again :) Recommended.
Very nice and romantic spot to camp. Nice river to swim in, beautiful nature surroundings.
We came from Arenal NP that day and used maps.me to navigate to this spot, which resulted in driving on a very challenging 'road' (no way back, luckally we made it). Don't take this road without 4wd for sure.
Really nice spot! Just the sounds of the jungle by night. Lots of wood to do a bonfire. Couple of motobikes passing by. Nice swim in the not cold river! Dirt road to come here but in good shape. We loved it!!
