This Border Pass only works in the summer and in the daytime. Crossing from Chile to Argentina was very quick. Further down the Argentine side, there was no delay either. But there was a queue with more than 30 cars to start the proceedings on the Argentine side. Our Motorhome was not surveyed. We did all processes from Chile to Argentina in less than 30 min.

Este Paso Fronteiriço só funciona no Verão e no período diurno. Cruzamos do Chile para Argentina, com muita rapidez. Mais adiante no lado Argentino também não houve nenhuma demora. Porém existia uma fila com mais de 30 carros para iniciar os trâmites pelo lado Argentino. Nosso Motorhome não foi vistoriado. Fizemos todo processo do Chile para Argentina em menos de 30 min.

Argentina > Chile. Crossing with a UK-registered motorcycle. Fairly busy border, so some queues to content with. Customs seem to be very concerned with people shopping in Argentina and returning to Chile. This was the only border crossing out of 12 in total where I was required to remove the bag from the motorcycle and put it through the x-ray. Every other border was just a cursory look in the panniers and off you go. Saved a little time by doing the online customs declaration.

Very friendly but strikt. Some of the officers spoke English. That helped. No problems to get all the stamps we need.
Customs officials refused to let us in with our newly purchased van. However, we had no problems crossing Cardenal Samore.
Report Check-InBorder crossing Argentina to Chile: very quick and friendly processing. No queue at all. Open at this time of the year from 8-17 hrs. SAG officers didn't check our just, they just asked us to throw the declared vegetables (one onion) into the bin.

Pasamos la fronteras rapidamente. Nos podamos ingresar en chile con carne, frutas o verduras. La policia estuve muy amable !

They told us than we can leave Chili only if we have a definitive RUT. After a long negotiation, they let us passed, they took our Declaration Jurada. The padron was in my name. Good luck with chilian aduana...
Argentina to Chile.
Slowest entry into Chile ever, not because of a queue (because there was none). The officers worked really slow or just very thorough, we don't know. We never saw such a profound check of all passing cars (they opened every little bag, and looked everywhere), except our van. We gave them some veggies and done! Maybe we got lucky because our officer was really enthousiastic about our American plate. We were allowed to pass with 90L of gasoline in jerrycans on the roof, which is very friendly too ofcourse!
Travelling in campervan Argentina to Chile and all fruit, vegetables,smoked meat and honey taken by Chilean aduana. Otherwise easy crossing. Aduana personnel friendly.
Report Check-InWe’ve been here in August, winter, and it is fully open. With our Land Rover from Brazil everything was ok. They checked the car and we entered Chile!

They did not want to let as through even with Declaration Jurada. After one hour they let us go, but clearly stated it is an exception and they turned away many foreigners owning Chilean car. They kept the copy of Declaration Jurada.
The car was not even looked at - either on Chilean nor on Argentinian border post.
