Bolivia
The Bolivian national gas company will fill up your propane/natural gas tanks here. It's open from 7am to 3pm.
Filled up a US tank without adapter. They might refused because of the size of the bottle (too small). Insist, come back, do not bribe them!
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
nice person, refilling done easily but via a small truck which does retail sales. I gave the bottle when it arrived and 1h30 later when it left, I collected the Argentinian bottle and paid 22.5 b for 10kgs
Report Check-InWe went today with our Uruguayan gas bottle and the guy said it was not possible to fill it.
Report Check-InSo I went here with our 5L (3kg) US propane bottle and they refused to fill it up because it was too small...the machine is setup for 10kg...blablabla. I insisted but they would not do it. We came back the very next day ( a friday). My girlfriend went this time (not me) and the worker at the door was different and he took it and after 1 hour gave it back filled!! Choose your day wisely / send your girl ;-)
Report Check-InI just entered and ask to fill my 11lbs propane cylinder. A guy did it for a big, fresh fanta bottle. No problem!
Report Check-InAs others have stated, walked up to the small window and asked to get a US tank filled. Waited 15 min for a truck driver who took it away and was back in 30 min with a properly filled 4.6kg fiberglass tank. Cost 25 Bolivianos, which is probably the best price we have gotten so far in South America. Friendly guys here!
Report Check-InStill possible to get Gas here.
You have to knock on the small window next to the gate (see photo).
We had a fiberglass gas bottle with a suitable American adapter with us, which worked without any problems in the end, but we had to do some persuasion work. First they didn't want to fill our 7,5l bottle with the argumentation that it was too small and then that it wasn't safe. A brief explanation that fiberglass is safe too, and it was fine.
Basically: a truck takes your bottle together with his in and brings it also out again. You pay with them. We waited about 1 hour until it was out again.
You have to knock on the gate the trucks pass through to get attention. The guard looked at our cylinder and told us to wait. another man in YPFB uniform eventually came, looked at the cylinder, then took it inside. It came out on the next truck that excited with full cylinders. We had to pay the truck driver. We got our two German cylinders filled this way.
Report Check-InThey say cannot fill Americano tank. Fixed tank they looked at.
Report Check-InRefill US propane cylinder/tank. Open weekdays 7-15. 22,5 bols for barbecue tank. No adaptator needed.
