Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Goes farther then it looks. We had the place to ourselves because all the other campers stopped at the maintained portion. Beautiful view.

The Sierra Vista trailhead is about 1/2 -1 mile from this place, going into town.
Report Check-InGreat spot. Free and legal dispersed camping for up to 14 days. Note that the GPS marker points to a spot off the road near a livestock corral which has a no parking sign. The better spot is down the road slightly at the Sierra Vista trailhead.
Report Check-InBLM trailhead for sierra vista trail. Has multiple spots to set up for the night, including a couple spots for larger rigs. can get super windy, but overall great location. Few trails in the area for mountain biking/hiking.
