Nice views of mountains and right on the lake. Trash and pit toilets are available. Good hiking, biking and paddling from here. It's BLM and sign says 10 days per calendar year. we got here on a Sat afternoon of a 3-day weekend and still found a spot.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Lots of parking where stones are but we got located at the swampy end of the lake before the BLM area
Nice breeze right off the lake
Too many mosquitoes and flies
Didn’t stay overnight
On the cell phone reception we had no issues.
Didn’t see any signs given a stay limited also not sure they care.
Mosquito for sure but only at night fall.
A lot of places to camp. There’s a 10 spot campsite by the lake then random spots along the lake.
Over all a nice place to stay.
Report Check-Inthe waterside spots all closed now, no overnight parking allowed, but there are still lots of great spots on the area, over the road and up the dirt tracks to higher ground and good views.
Report Check-InBeautiful place to car camp. You can stay up to 10 days. There’s a lot of cars coming in and out all night but other than that I really liked this place. Will definitely come back.
Report Check-InTons of spots, one area where snowbird RV's were clustered in a parking lot. Keep driving further north and you can find lots of spots down by the swamp. Some are more private than others. There's a couple different "hub" areas to camp at. Saw lots of vans down there. Trash not too bad. Sand not bad to drive on. Watch out for no camping signs in some spots. Heard coyotes
Report Check-InGreat spot to camp. There were no mosquitoes when we were there in late December, but we were up in the top lot away from the lake. We have experienced mosquitoes in the past at this location. There is some Verizon signal up top but it can be unreliable. It works well on a cell booster. AT&T also works well with a booster. There is a 10 day limit per calendar year, and we did have a ranger stop by to write down plates during our stay.
Report Check-InSpent two nights here. Good for free BLM camping, but a lot of bugs and even more entitled snow birds. The lake is very popular with boating on the weekend. Pit toilet and large dumpsters on site.
Report Check-Inbeen very nice so far. Windy, but hope it will die down. Looking forward to a great New year's Eve.
Report Check-InParked my bus and trailer here for two nights beside the beautiful lake with zero troubles.
Friday night was breezy , peaceful and fairly quiet with only a few cars going by.
Saturday not so much. Plenty of cars, boats and loud music by one family of kooks who were bumping music across the lake well into the night.
It definitely got buggy. Peppermint oil helped.
The signs were confusing to me. Some spots say no over nite camping while others do not.
Another sign says camping allowed in undeveloped areas while another says designated camping area in a gravel lot.
It looks like they may be trying to move the campers into the lot with giant rocks delineating the cramped camping spaces. It looks awful!
This is lovely area and is conveniently close to Yuma, but it could be hit or miss.
Report Check-InVery nice and peaceful. All dry camping but there are trash cans. We got cell service here. We camped on the little Plato so that might have helped view of the lake and the mountains were great.
Report Check-InPas évident à trouver, en plus on arrive tard mais chanceux que nous sommes il reste une place. Le lendemain, on découvre le pound et ses canards.
Report Check-InAnother great weekend here on the water. Not as busy as it was in February. climb the hill or go south on the road for cell service
Report Check-InGreat spot, very scenic. Had a dip in the lake to beat the heat. A lot of garbage here unfortunately.
Report Check-InNice views of mountains and right on the lake. Trash and pit toilets are avaialble. no cell service. Good hiking, biking and paddling from here. It's BLM and sign says 10 days per calendar year. we got here on a Sat afternoon of a 3-day weekend and still found a spot.
