Big parking lot open across the street from the main entrance. Prices very reasonable. Plenty of room always available. Weekends gets very crowded. Food is delicious. Family oriented.

There is no camping allowed here. They will send you to Pelican - anther property down the road.

If you are looking for a place to work (great WiFi!!) and you have the budget, the rooms are $50 - it includes breakfasts, AC in room, access to the pool/restaurant and beach.

We stayed here on a Wednesday. We had camped at Mama Juany (closer to Flores) the night before. It was the perfect treat after days of camping :)

Report Check-In

We got send away immediately when we asked if it was possible to camp at La Tortuga Verde. Without further notice "go to Pelican", and the guy walked away. We did not feel welcome at all so we left.

Report Check-In

We couldn’t fit under the tree. They sent us to Pelican down the street (same American owner). It was a big field with electric and access to showers/bathrooms that were ... special. It was right in the beach for $10 you can’t beat it for one night!

Report Check-In

We were cycling down the road and Tom pulled over and kindly said we could camp at his place, Tortuga :) Really nice and interesting guy, plus the place is really popular with locals rather than tourists which is nice!

We ended up spending 8 days here. We told them we only wanted to spend $45 and they easily accepted this. Initially wanted to charge $7/day for the two of us, our dog, and the van. We cooked most of the time but did eat dinner at the restaurant two of the nights as well as bought some drinks- they want people who come to eat mainly at the restaurant but they didn’t mind us cooking at all. Even used an outlet in the office to cook some rice in our instant pot. a little pricier than other places in the area. Good food. Adela’s next door had great papusas and tortas- ate there a couple times as well. Fisherman sell their catch on the beach, not every day but keep an eye out. Tom the owner is a trip, and incredibly kind and helpful. We found a tapeworm in our dogs Poo when we got there and asked Tom if there was a vet in the area. He went out of his way to procure meds for our dog. He also tipped his guys off at the Honduras border to help us through the line quickly, super helpful. Loved our time here, would recommend.

easily negotiated down to 5usd per night for 2 people and our van. we did not use electricity

Nice and chill place during the week. Happy Hour from 16:30 to 18:30: 5.5usd for two cocktails or 1usd per beer.

Stayed 4 nights and enjoyed the magnificent shower pressure, beach walks, ocean swim.

For entertainment read the negative Trip Advisor Reviews of this place.

Never ate there because food is pricey and we cooked instead which bothered nobody. Buy seafood at ASPESCU which you can reach by road or by beach.
Eating out we enjoyed the most at Brisas del Mar in the little town all the way east were the river enters the ocean.
Adela's Pupusas next door were awesome and Sofi in el Cuco town was fine but we did enjoy Brisas del Mar more because of same quality food for a slightly lower price and view of ocean.

Nice campsite first the owner wanted us to park on the other side of the road. There was no gate or fence. We discovered another gate to the main property and asked if we could get in here as the main gate is protected by deep trees. He said ok. Toilet and showers were ok. Pool is very small. The beach is very nice. In the darkness we wanted to see the turtles. We have great respect for these animals. We are loose with our lamps not 2 minutes later a local stopped us to turn off the lamps and walk closer to the water... ok we put our lamps on red light but walked further on the beach because there are the turtles to lay the eggs a few meters later we were asked by 3 very aggressive native with made to go back immediately. The trade of these turtle eggs is opaque.

It’s still possible to camp here. 5pp/night. The facilities and the pool are nice and clean. There are hammocks everywhere to relax in. Food prices are expensive but it is good. The bar offers happy hour between 4:30 and 6:30pm. Road to the tortuga is being worked on right now and access is very limited between 8 and 18.30.
7.5/10

So I was allowed to park overnight on the large grass plot opposite the entrance for free( no toilet or electric water is availableas ) as I was eating in the restaurant. WiFi is strong moon was full and Turtugas were released and swam with! BARGAIN

Report Check-In

Alternative parking is on the other side of the road in a grass plot no sea view.

Low hanging large tree on entry 2.8mtr high won't enter

First we were send to the hotel down the road for camping. But when we asked to see the $18 room there was suddenly place to camp. Toilets and showers very clean and possible to plug in electricity. $10 a night for 2 persons and a dog. Good food, but little expensive. Nice beach and in high season lot of activities

Report Check-In

They told us that there is only a room for 45$ left and everything else is booked (even tough everything seemed to be rather empty...) after some haggling there was suddenly a small room for 18$ available.... nice place otherwise!

Report Check-In

clean pool. Nice beach.Room with AC 35 USD. Road is bad when driving to coast..

Report Check-In

Season for turtle releases begins in September. We didn't stay, but asked about the prices - camping is 10 usd per person now! And you can stay on the parqueadero (no toilets, a lot of rubbish!!!) or at Rio Mar/El Pelicano which they recommended.

Report Check-In

What a gem! So many activities offered (turtle release, yoga, surfing, volleyball, corn hole, ping pong, movies, music room, swimming pool, bonfires, massage, Spanish lessons, trivia night). Tons of hammocks hung up around the property. Great spot to meet people from all over the world. Good food & cold drinks.

Report Check-In

We moved here from Rio Mar due to the Saturday night fiesta. The lot is okay but no ocean view as it's across the road from hotel. We were able to plug into the little building there. Wi-Fi was not functioning at hotel and people told us it rarely does; worked three days of the ten we were here and not all day either. Claro cell worked most of the time including our hotspot. As we needed very good internet one day, we drove to El Cuco and parked on a street and our claro hotspot worked really well.

We paid $5 pp per night initially. Nice bar with good prices especially at happy hour. No bathroom facilities right on lot here and gates are closed overnight to the hotel. We decided to stay at the lot here as it was closer to the action and we spent all day at hotel beach anyway. We felt safe despite no gate on parking lot. Monday afternoon, police came and manned the little building we were plugged into for three nights and returned on Sunday morning. After being here a week they charged us $5 more a night for running our AC; we paid it for last few nights as there was no better place that we could fit. Seemed a little steep just for power but they charge $10 extra for AC in rooms. WARNING: this is the kind of place that is so hard to leave!

Report Check-In

You can not camp over night of the property of the hotel, you can only camp on a parking lot on the other side of the street in opposite of the Hotel, this parking lot is not clean, a lot of waste, no view on the ocean, no shade, no guard over night, they send you to Rio Mar

Report Check-In

$5/pp camping. Didn't want us to camp here, said we could camp at Rio Mar "only two minutes down the beach" and use the facilities. Rio Mar is actually much further so they ended up letting us camp there. Found Cesar who we dealt with to be rude. Holidays are very busy with day users, lots of families, very noisy and chaotic. Check out a second pool behind the rooms. Loud party on Saturday nights. Free turtle release at 4pm, free yoga at 9am. Restaurant had good food but was expensive and the service was horrible, even though they weren't busy when we were dining. Makes the 10% automatic gratuity annoying. Only one other place to eat (comedor) within walking distance. Great beach though - very flat, no rocks, good for surfing.

Report Check-In

Great place--they had free baby turtle liberations every day (in season) and free yoga sessions. Wifi is poor and only in front of reception though, which they turn off at closing time. We paid $30 per night for an A/C room.

Report Check-In

Nice holiday resort directly at the beach. Very clean toilets and cold showers, electricity, slow wifi. 10 USD/night for two. Very hot and humid climate.

Report Check-In

Hotel/ campground right on the beach owned by an American from New York, same owner as Rio Mar down the street. $ 10.00/ night for two including electricity. The place seems to be a popular one. Restaurant and bar on site.
