the road from here north is for 77 km fairly bad ripio.
First 17 km downhill, ok.
Then 27 km of loose gravel and some washboard.
Then 33 km of very loose gravel (terribly slow on a bike and potentially dangerous)
. Drive down to the river at pos. 36.33112°S 69.67173°W. Very nice there and even poss. for truck camper. Can be windy. You can stay overnight at pos. 36.33445°S 69.67307°W down at the river.

Cycled today from Ranquil del Norte to Bardas Blancas and the ripio section is 77 km long. Some good bits but overall pretty bad. Southern section OK. Northern section very loose gravel and washboard. Terribly slow and potentially dangerous on a bike (Watch out for loose sand, gravel!)
This is not a camping place. it's just where the ripio road starts, going North for about 100km, and not 40km as the sign says.
It's ok for the first 35km going North, than it gets really bad.
almost no water in the whole way otherwise the murky river or the Defunta Correa sanctuaries.
The dirt road wasn’t that bad and we are in a 6.5 tonne motor home, certainly been on much worse. It is closer to 70klm’s of rapio. Road works in progress make the whole rough section about 100klm’s.
