Description

ADMIN NOTE: Road reports are not supported by iOverlander as per our criteria.
Coming from ruta 40 it’s all gravel road, the last 25 km are a 4x4 track for vehicles with high clearance only. Rocks and 2-3 tricky parts with washed-out ditches, where sand-bags lay around, with which you could help yourself. Doable when dry, maybe impassable after rain. Twice we needed diff lock for the sections damaged by the last rain.
Nevertheless if you are an off-road freak, leave ruta 40 at -36.515177, -69.665507 right after the bridge over the Rio Grande. Follow: -36.527735, -69.542078/ -36.686535, -69.462626. And take the left track at -36.653741, -69.399402. Good luck 👍

Latest Check-Ins

This track gives you an awesome view of the Payún Liso / Cerro Payún volcano. The coordinates from the first post are helpful, thanks.

This track is season depending: the deep drainage channels mentioned in the first post were mostly filled up (until the next rains) and the drive could be done with high clearance 2WD. Track does tilt sideways on occasion (we were worried about going over sideways). Good tread on tyres needed due to the loose sharp rocks.
