Something not right?

Description

Just off the Hwy. Far enough away to not be seen. Sign a little way in says 4x4 recommended. Not really necessary tho.
Can see the glow of LV over the mountains.
Next time I would go further in.

Excellent Verizon cell service.

Great spot. Was easy with our 2wd. Good reception Verizon

Report Check-In

Great spot - Would recommend 4x4 if possible, but FWD van made it to the first camping landing. Did research to confirm this is a sponsored and approved dispersed camping location. Some trash and some broken bottles so please pick up after yourself. Fire rings around as well

Dirt road that is a pull-off from Rte 93 with a great view. Rte 93 is busy and visible although not very noisy. The 1st half mile or so is OK for most and with a few places to camp, plus it is possible to turn around, despite the warning sign. The road then takes a sharp right down a lip and becomes much less-used, probably impossible for low-clearance vehicles. I hiked up to road another .75 mile. Some nice almost level sites, but view not all that much better. There is then a steep, rutted grade up that tracks indicate many vehicles had difficulty with. Looks like 4x4 needed.

in our camper with the windows closed, it was a very quiet night! arrived at night so we didn't go past the first pin. not level at all buy there is an established fire pit!

as described, easy way in and out if you don't go far in. really nice views with the sunset! right off the highway though, so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. it's a road with some pretty sharp rocks so drive carefully. unfortunately we had to pick up quite a lot of broken glass and some trash. whoever threw those bottles, clean it up yourself next time!

Just as everyone else said.. it really is a beautiful spot, just not the best since you can hear road noise. Would definitely NOT recommend going past the spot we stayed if you do not have 4×4 with high clearance. Good Verizon reception.

Update: it’s only camping in designated area. It’s belong to National Park. But the season is closed for this.

Any car can do without 4x4 but don’t go opposite side. It definitely need 4x4 and little rough road. There few spot can parking but will not perfect “flat”. Just one night will do.

Report Check-In

Nothing special but it's an easy in and out location, right off the highway. There are a few spots right off the road that would be suitable for any vehicle but you'd definitely want something w high clearance if you go further in. I stayed on a Friday night and didn't see anyone else. Good cell service.

Gravel road off of the highway with pull offs. It’s pretty uneven / rocky, but the first part is doable with 2WD. There’s a little hill where the road dips down and you can keep going, it’s on the right side as you drive in and reach the end of the main part, but we weren’t comfortable risking it in our 2WD van since we showed up after dark and couldn’t see the condition very well. There’s highway noise but it didn’t bother us in a van. Might be worse in a tent. The sunrise views were beautiful. Some of the pull off spots had fire rings after that dip in the road, but where we stayed did not. Very nice place for pulling off the highway for a night. Probably wouldn’t stay for multiple days though.

Report Check-In

As described. It's basically a pull-out in the bend of the road. I drove in at night and was worried about the condition of the road, but the spot is pretty close to the highway and no problem at all in my Sprinter (or even in a passenger car would be fine.)

There is freeway noise, but no helicopter tours atm - likely due to COVID-19 restrictions. It's a weird time to be living in a van.

Superbe endroit très venteux mais le paysage vaut le détour . Moins de 1km de la route

Just off the road. Great little spot for a night. No amenities.

Awesome pull off right above the freeway. So easy and super private. I wish they were all like that!

really nice, a bit noisy because of the highway but it looks like we are alone in the middle of nowhere.
