Latest Check-Ins

The wine really isn’t great. We didn’t expect it to be but still wanted to come. The drive was lovely but there are very few vines around and the little bit they have is fenced off and covered up to protect it from monkeys. So you don’t get the typical vineyard experience… still we liked the cute little cottages and enjoyed the dinner. If you have extra time this is a nice place to stop for sure but you don’t have to squeeze it into a busy itinerary and you should come with low expectations regarding the wine 😅

We considered our visit definitely worth it:
very nice setting,
quite generous platters (N$ 270 for the cheese platter incl. 5 wine tasting glasses, N$160 for another mixed platter).
the red wines are ok, but expensive (N$245 - 295)
Wifi (free) available if asked for
The staff‘s level of motivation was indeed low
Regrettably, they do not allow overlanders to stay for the night, although they’d have plenty of space (and there were no other guests when we were there)

We tasted 4 red wines at Neuras Wineyard. We had a very unmotivated Lady who served the wine to warm and without joy. Not really worth a visit.

Well worth the stop at this vinery which is part if the N/a'aukuse Ecotourism Collection.
We did a shared tasting (4 red wines) accompanied by a (big) cheesplatter for N$ 225 as is was 10.30 am in the morning!
It was a very nice experience and we left at the end with two bottles of wine

A nice stop over for lunch. Food was OK, but do not expect SA winery standards. Wine tasting was not available. We had a bottle of the 2016 tripple cloned Shiraz at N$ 295 which is a very good and heavy red wine. Rather pricey but given the special location and remotes price is acceptable.
