Friendly staff, right by good surf breaks, restaurant food is delicious. Charged me 150 per night. Sand fleas, however, are intolerable. I couldn’t leave my van in the evening or morning. I’m told it’s because San Blas is a protected bird sanctuary so they don’t spray for bugs here. Also was told that the bugs are worse around the full moon but I wasn’t going to stick around to see if they got better during the new moon.

We came at 8:30pm, had 2 beers and asked if we could stay for a night, we wanted to check the place in the morning when it's not dark as hell, because we were planning to stay 2 weeks. They wanted to charge us 300 pesos to sleep at their empty parking lot until morning. We decided to sleep on the end of the road for free and never come back. Anyway, it's too small for bigger rig, bugs are horrible and you're sleeping on the parking lot. Not worth it, if you're coming just for a night, go to the end of this road, noone gives a f*** about you

This was our first camp spot on the mainland. The drive from Mazatlan was doable. You will park on the parking lot, which is usually for the restaurant guests. The toilets were a bit dirty, but functional and the shower is also one of kind. Everything looks a bit aged, but you can still feel the vibe. We were two cars this night and there were a caretaker during the night. There is no real gate, just a rope. We felt safe. And yes there are sand flies. They don’t bother us during our stay, but now - a few days later :-/. Overall we liked the spot, especially their dog.

Report Check-In

Place is right next to the beach. Unfortunately it‘s true about the sandflies. We couldn‘t get out of the car without being attacked right away. We paid 200 pesos for the night, which seems a bit too much since it‘s only a parking lot. We were the only ones there.

Report Check-In

Nice informal campground on the restaurant site at the beach. We paid 200 pesos for tent camping (2 + motorcycle). there are rudimentary showers and restrooms. good is decent and pretty cheap. the beach is surfable with a south swell. we did not get bothered by mosquitoes but heard that they are sometime very aggressive.

Report Check-In

Parking is under the palapas as described. People who work there are very nice and friendly. Right next to the beach, which is amazing! Quiet, no crowded at all, and one of the best sunset I’ve ever seen.
Great place to learn how to Surf. Pompi, the owner, is a surfer champion and a nice man. The lesson will be 400 pesos 1,5 hour, best rate in Nayarit for sure.

Sand flies and gegenes are bad in this zone, just make sure to bring proper repellent lotion, and to be in the beach, especially in the morning and in the afternoon. I think it is totally worth it.

Cool place right on beach. Camping is under palapa in restaurant car park. Access to toilets and showers. Way too many sand flies to be enjoyable unfortunately.

Report Check-In

Paid 100 pesos per person per night. Rent for surfboards is 50p/hour or 350 for whole day. Decent toilets and cold showers and restaurant. Night guard active all night.

Our camper truck JUST fits in under the palapas (see picture). Was pretty noisy at night/early morning for one night. It's a surf spot so expect a relaxed mellow vibe during the day, Shaka bra!

Report Check-In

As described before. It was 100 pesos/per person per night. Be aware of the bugs!

We stayed here for a night after a long drive to San Blas. Didn't arrange anything in advance and the owners were friendly and welcoming. The price increased a bit to 80mx / person with toilet and cold but nice showers. You can also use their kitchen.

The place is basically part of the restaurant so you camp in a roofed parking lot. 9 parking spaces to camp in, one without a roof, the rest is roofed with a maximum height of about 2.8m / 9 ft. Anything longer than 7m / 22 ft wouldn't fit in either.

Nice spot to arrive to after a long drive and somewhat good surf in the front, but definitely not beach camping, because you are staying in the restaurant parking lot.

Report Check-In

Seems very good but not feasible for big RVs especially if you are 3,50 high. Stayed at the RV park next to it.

Stoner surf camp is more of a restaurent where you can camp with a small rig in the parking lot. Not much surf in the winter in San Blas. 120$ for the night. We ended up hanging out with the owner and some friends after the restaurent closed. They were all very friendly and gave us surf contacts all the way down the coast and a few beers! Bugs weren’t the end of the world at all during this time of year!

80 pesos camping, and 300 pesos for a X2 cabana

very nice staff. right on beach

Report Check-In

yes, you can bargain and stay at the lot just across the street. but this place has palapas in the lot for 24h shade. the Owner waters the lot, so it stays relatively cool in the shade. the Toilets and showers are (relatively) decent as well. we did paid the 80 pesosperpersonpernight and stayed 3 nights, but we did not try to lower the price. right now not even a Single Sand flea and the Moskito Situation is not too Bad.

Report Check-In

As described.. stayed here 3 nights. First night we payed 80 pesos, the 2 other nights 60 pesos pp.
Showers, toilets and kitchen available.
Luckily the beach and restaurants were empty but it seems this place can get very, very crowded.

Stayed 3 nights, one in van in parking lot and 2 in cabaña. There is tent camping as well. The price is 80 pesos for camping/parking and we paid 300 pesos per night for cabaña. Great fan and mosquito nets around beds. Right on beach. Sand fleas are out to get you!! Bring repellent and hydrocortisone cream!! Otherwise was fine place. Good kitchen with a water cooler but with few plates pans etc Flush toilets. Showers are cold with a stream of water shooting out so the rinse off is ok. Restaurant there too but never ate there ; it's open from like 9-5. Oh and pet friendly! We had 2 dogs with us.

Report Check-In

80 pesos per person. We slept in our SUV. Mosquito situation wasn't too bad in September. The town itself is very nice. There is an ATM on the way to town, near the navy base. There is a good seafood restaurant on the beach, couple of restaurants from this place - Restaurante El Amigo.

Report Check-In

We spent a night here. According to the guy we talked to, the prices have changed for camping, now it's 80 pesos per night per person.
With a little bargaining we were charged 70 pesos per person (we slept in our campervan).
The restrooms are OK, and the kitchen really useful. But the struggle with sandflies and mosquitos is real after the sunset.

Report Check-In

Tight parking space, but nice spot with clean (by Mexican standards) bathroom. Was the only person there, but it was mid week.

Report Check-In

The sandfly struggle is real – don't go there

Nice place to stay, a bit outside the town, but you can use bike for free. Mosquitos and sandflies are a bit annoying, repel recommended :-) Cabins start at 150 pesos / single for those not on the beach and 200 on the beach. Inside each, there is a fan and mosquito net. Great place.

Report Check-In

This is also playa Azul restaurant. We are camped in our truck in the parking lot for $50 pesos each person. Dog is welcome and free of charge. Tent camping on the beach in front of the restaurant is offered at the same price, but your not allowed to drive on the beach so if you're sleeping in your rig then your sleeping in the parking lot. We found this a bit awkward since we didn't have room to setup our awning and camp in our normal way, but they provide a gas stove and refrigerator as well as a couple random plates and knives and such. There are clean toilets and cold showers. They have a nice security guard on duty every night. Restaurant is not the cheapest, and closes at 6pm.

Ótimo lugar. ótima infra - estrutura. ficamos somente uma noite. pagamos 180 pesos

Report Check-In

We stayed there only one night because we were eaten by sand flies.

Report Check-In

there was a big hurrican before and they were still cleaning up. place is ok overall. But beware - there is a MASSIVE Sandfly population at the beach that are eating you alive as soon as its getting dark.
if you rent a cabin, you will have a mosquito net and it is better to sleep. but i definitely wouldnt recommend sitting there and have a beer in the evening.

Funky little restaurant/cabina/campground right on the beach in San Blas. Only about 3 camp sites for RVs but there are also cabinas available and tent camping on the beach. We paid 50 pesos per night for the both of us but sounds like its normally 50 pesos person. THE SAND FLIES WERE VERY BAD HERE! Includes access to the group kitchen, cold showers, bathroom, bikes, etc.
