Description

One of three free campsites on the Haberton Estancia. This one is probably the most beautiful with views of the channel and next to a river. Fire pits are only amenity. You need to register to camp when you enter the estancia land, look for the small green hut to the left of the road.

Great spot by the beagle channel. You can camp near the river or in the open by the pebble beach not much of wind protection though.

Report Check-In

Very beautiful place by the river in wild nature. At the Estancia, he will inform you about the places where you can sleep. There is no infrastructure.

Mitten in der Natur von Feuerland. Am Beaglekanal, total einsam. Kein Service.

Spend 2 days close to the river, nice place with a fireplace, big tree where the kids had played hours. The beach is at 5min walked. Few winds when we were there but, the place is very large and there’s possibility to park closed the little hill, if the wind come from Ushuaia (moreoften), you’ll be full protected !
To know, all the bridges till Moat are ok for 16T not more …

We got stuck in the mud! we were able to escape with 4wd. Foxes came to check on us (food). Lovely place beside the mud.

Nos quedamos atrapados en el barro. Gracias al 4x4 pudimos escapar.
Los zorros viene a ver que comida pueden ligar de nosotros. Muy lindo a pesar del barro.

This place is nice and lots of flat areas but we thought the views were better closer to end of the road. Here you do not get the morning sun.

Nice Camping. We stayed on the medow at the channel.

Beautiful area to camp. Wild horses will surely visit your camp, one even licked the dew off our friend's van in the morning. Grey fox hung around for a while too. Spots on either side of bridge are wind protected, unlike the area marked as camping in maps.me. Felt very end of the road and satisfying...but still drove the additional hour to the actual end of the road.

Beautiful place with view to the beagle canal. Lot of firewood. Quiet.

First register at the estancia.

Beautiful campsite. Does get bogged down after rain, but the thick grasses keep the mud in check. No problems with our van. Wildlife galore. Truly makes you feel like you're at the end of the world!

Hello
We sleep on the left side before the bridge with a big rig.
Please go on the hill near the canal for the marvelous sunrise.
We are register to the estancia and it's free.
Great sensation of a really wild place.
We have see dolphins.

Nice spot and good wind protection. Some other families and fishermans here. Still for free!

All comments valid. Beutiful place along the river and amongst the trees.

Really lovely campground. No facilities. Super quiet, plenty of space, and you’re even permitted to have a fire in this area! Wind protection in the area to the right just before the bridge. We registered first at the estancia - very friendly people. Free!

Bonita zona de acampada libre y gratis. No hay que registrarse en la Hacienda Haberton

Report Check-In

Beautiful area. For large rigs, there is a dry and flat area 200m after the bridge, on the top of a hill. From that spot there is a little road that goes to the river, but it's steep, wet and muddy today after just a little bit of rain.

Report Check-In

Nice and very very quiet place.

Stunning camp spot - one of the best for sure. Some areas get a bit boggy with rain but the East side of river is hardpacked gravel / stones. There are also tracks down to the beach, but pretty exposed. Horses all around and lovely views across the Beagle. The drive through Estancia Haberton and along the Ruta J was one of our favourites in all Argentina. Beautiful and rugged area.

Report Check-In

Beautiful place here! Also the drive along the "RC J" is very nice.

Nice place after visiting Es. Haberton

This is camping! Not a soul in cooee, a running stream 15mtrs away, a magic view of the channel and it's free! As per the other posts we stopped in at estancia haberton and spoke to Abby, the owner of the estancia. A permit for camping isn't required but we got the impression they like to know who is camping on the reserve and for how long. We felt we needed to support the estancia so had coffee and cake in their tea room before heading up the road to camp. Yum cake!

Our pick of spots on a very rainy day. We needed a sturdy driveway and found one just on the far (east) side of the river. Super quiet, we only saw one car the entire time we were here on a weekday. We didn't register, and when we asked people seemed surprised at the request. The museum people said we didn't need to, and the woman at the Estancia Cafe told us it was not necessary - although she wrote our details on a scrap piece of paper just in case.
