Description

After listening to the manager's pitch for rooms, he was happy to let us camp in the grass by the lake. 10 USD pppn, $10 for every meal if you don’t choose to go a la carte. The budget rooms are 15 USD pppn. This is a great place to relax and view the lake. You can walk around or do a number of boating activities on the lake. The facilities are clean (hot water!) and the WiFi exists even if it is sometimes apathetic. The food is really good but they don’t have a way to keep things warm so expect one part of the meal to be cold if the place is busy. When it’s cold they bring out clay ovens and you can serve yourself hot drinks.

Latest Check-Ins

Despite previous reviews, we found the camping area very unimpressive. It's a completely exposed piece of grass outside the lodge perimeter and there was plenty of rubbish and refuse scattered around - very uninviting. To use the bathrooms, it's a bit of a walk and you have to re-enter the lodge compounds each time. It's also right off the road, and although not busy, doesn't offer a lot of privacy. Not too many areas to enjoy the lake from either. Asked for $20 (2 pax). Thought it was completely overpriced, so we went back to the Overlanders Resort, which although slightly more expensive at $12 pppn, we think is much better value.

Long road to get to this lodge but well worth it. Set up on grassy field next to the lodge for RTT with beautiful view of the lake. Steep path to get down/up needing 4WD. $10pppn.

We were able to use all the lodge facilities, hot water was not working at this time. We ate one meal at the restaurant which was good quality (fresh fish) but expensive. Staff were lovely and attentive. Would go back again.

What a great lodge. They gave us a spot next to the lodge on grassy field with a beautiful view for our 4x4 with rrt. We had to walk a bit for the ablution. The staff was very friendly and helpful. In the evening they gave us a charcoal fire and hot water bottle to warm our beds.
Nice food in restaurant, but a bit expensive. Laundry service was very expensive. Payed 10usd pppn

We really enjoyed our stay at Rocks Resort. We checked out the overlanding camp in town first and decided it was too busy. Rocks resort let us camp at the back for $10pppn. There’s no view from the tent but we got full use of the lodge so enjoyed the views from there. The staff were awesome. We were allowed to use the canoes for free, they gave us hot water bottles for bed, cute lanterns around our camp, washed our car for free, there’s decent wifi and good views from the main area where there’s loads of places to charge etc. Decent food at the bar and they sorted a boat trip for us. Very peaceful stay and very well looked after.

Lovely deck, friendly staff, bad road to get there. Not ideal for RTT - you have to park/camp over the road in the car park alongside the resort staff.
