Latest Check-Ins

Spring is flowing but pipe isn't connected properly so the pool/sink isnt warm.

Report Check-In

Great spot and great hot springs. Very quiet

Report Check-In

I would suggest going out here a day early or earlier in the day. As of right now Crab Cooker is dry. Looks like the pipe was broken. There is another spring north of it that is walking distance but it is very small and it was already occupied so getting there early is best.

I didn't stay here, but I did check out the hot spring. The road is passable without 4WD, but high clearance is absolutely needed. The spring was not dry, but it was unbearably hot. It's called crab cooker for a reason. There's a few good spots to park and camp here. All are close to each other tho, so expect next door neighbors.

Report Check-In

Spring is dry again. Road pretty rough, HC4WD strongly recommended.

Report Check-In

As described, the road in is rough, but all you need is high clearance and you can pick your way through it. We camped in the parking area for Crab Cooker and there is a steady stream of people coming day and night. The pools in this area are small and leave little room for social distancing or privacy. Still cool spot to check out and it is free. Very limited cell service on ATT once you get to the end of the road.

drive is rough. 4WD recommended but there was an old van that made it here. spring was dry. the next spring was packed in the morning. night sky is superb. cows.

Nice place. We parked a little bit before the parking lot. Other places on the road to go there. Quiet and with the full moon the hot spring were just an amazing moment !

Report Check-In

parking lot of the hot spring. there are some pull offs on the road before. we were not alone but all the people were very nice. the tub can fit 6 people and ahas a valve to regulate the hot water. awesome view in the morning with the smoke from the hot springs and the sun

Report Check-In

This place is great. Gets a bit crowded in the evening. It is definitely better than the Shepherd Springs which are 1/4 mile further. As mentioned, don’t forget to close the spring’s valve or it’ll get crab cooking hot.

Report Check-In

Simply amazing spot. View of the lower valley area and Sierra Nevada range. When you first arrive the spring was not obvious to me. It will be on the right when driving in at the loop end of the parking lot. We came and there were maybe two other vehicles that stayed overnight. There is a valve just outside the “tub” to regulate heat flow. It can be just warm or pan hot based on the valve. Fires are doable, just be responsible as all signs state. It will be hard to leave here. Some do choice to be attire free, FYI.
