No hassle at all, ferry still running, but seems there is no timetable. Basically the ferry is pending between the two shores from morning to evening. Unfortunately we were the 5th car waiting at 9:30 am so we had to wait for the next transit which departed 12:00. Price for our 4x4 Pajero is 25,000 Franc or $10. No problem to pay with USD at all.
A lot of children around which were first shy but after a bit of taking they started to ask for money or candy etc. and wouldn't stop till the ferry arrives.

“Vehicule leger” is 25.000 (12,50$) nowadays. Ferry times are not accurate anymore but basically it leaves every 1.5hour from one side.

Very easy. Boats seem to leave about 30 mins later going the other direction but not quite clear so I’d suggest showing up reasonably early. We were the only vehicle on board. Boat a ticket with a receipt from someone whilst we were waiting to board.

No office, easy and fast you just need to drive on the bac and pay during the passage. approx 30 min to cross the Congo river.
No hassle.

$10 for a Landcruiser with receipt issued. Sailing times are as posted. A lot of curious/begging people around. Kids will be very happy to wash some of the mud from the very bad road to Kingoye off your car.

They told me the ferry was broken and that they can take me on the other side on a tiny boat. No way.

I just waited and the ferry eventually came. Paid on it, even got a receipt.
