Description

Rare wild camping opportunity in Columbia.

The spot is pretty basic and is just a small turnout off a quiet logging road, but there is no one around and it's in the woods. We camped right in the turnout and were very happy, but from here another small steep road leads down the hill 100m to a very pretty, secluded spot. It was wet when we were here so decided not to risk it in our 2wd Sprinter, but if you had 4wd it would be no problem. Recommend that you walk it first.

There is some road noise from the main highway but it's not too obtrusive. From what we saw this small road is used for pretty much only for logging. All traffic was large trucks or motos, no buses or people walking. Friendly waves all around. No traffic at night. Big rigs might have some trouble maneuvering in the tight area and finding a level spot.

We've found that there are not many true wild camping spots in Colombia so we were excited to find this place. We ended up staying two nights to get some chores done on the van.

This place is amazing!! We recommend it highly. You can easily walk down from the turn out to see if further down would be good for your vehicle. We drove down the rocky hill in our 4x4 Sprinter van in dry conditions. The trees and the sound of the river are beautiful and you can find level ground. A forest ranger told us it was absolutely no problem to spend a night. We didn’t make a fire but he asked that we put it out completely if we did. We felt safe

we arrived at night, it was difficult to found the unpaved entry as it was dark and raining. We drove 300mts until a flat spot. Quiet night however some workers in motorcycles woke us up at 6am and aftet that a lot of wood trucks started pasing by. It is a good free option if you want to stop by in your way to Medellin.

Report Check-In

Perfect location. Very quiet. With our 4x4 we found spot a little bit more downward towards the river. Nobody there.

As described. Great spot. Asked the forestry workers and they said absolutely fine to camp and they said it was safe.

One of the best nights of the trip just sitting round the fire

Really good place. It was a little weird finding 10 wood trucks coming up as I was entering the road, and it was nighttime which made it a little sketchy, but after I found the turnout about 500m down the dirt road the place was awesome. The forest is beautiful, so as the tiny beach and the river. It’s quiet and fresh

great place for the night for us. no rain, dry dusty road. we went to the place further down- backward - no problem for our sprinter campervan (2x4). no claro internet reception. a litte river and small beach nearby.

Report Check-In

As described. Road had more truck traffic than expected and the road was very dusty. However, rather than staying in the tiny turn out, we backed down the side track about 75m to a wonderful spot in the trees and completely put off sight. We spent 2 nights here. The check is very close and there are tons of fire flies. Excellent location. Our truck is 7.4m long
