Description

We wanted to spend a day biking in Las Catalinas, but were unable to find a close spot to camp. We spoke with the security of the resort and they would not let us stay in our van in their public lot. We also spoke with a guy who was taking money to watch the cars at the public beach parking lot and he suggested to not stay overnight there, although legal and allowed, he warned of robberies... which we doubted. We ended up parking on the road about 100 feet south of the public beach parking lot and it worked out fine. Contruction early woke us up, but nobody bothered us there. Las Catalinas has public outdoor showers by the beach and public restrooms. Pura Vida Ride bike shop was really helpful too, would suggest stopping by for bike rentals or whatever you need. Mountain biking in the area was decent also, but would suggest heading south on the trail first.
