This is a perfect campsite with 360 degree views on a flat knoll hidden off to the left 1.7km up Lookout Mountain Rd as you approach a cattleguard a few km in from the highway. There are noticeable tracks leading off to the left of the main road which disappear as you approach the campsite 100m later. It is absolutely peaceful up here with no signs of parties or frequent activity. No vehicles went by during the time we were here.
No highway noise however you can see it in the distance from the knoll.
There is room for several rigs however there is no shade or privacy on this spot. There are likely other spots like this higher up Lookout Rd.

Easy, washboard-y gravel road up to the lookout. Added pics of the two track to get out to the spot and the most slanted part of it - no problem and nothing we were worried about in our sprinter van. We were the only people here and enjoyed a beautiful sunset and sunrise, deer running by and hills full of yellow wildflowers! It was windy but not moving our rig around very much. Some flies.
Report Check-InAs described. Only van here. I don’t have a lift on my Promaster & I was able to navigate the system the single lane road off the main road. Low clearance though. Beautiful!
Report Check-InPerfect
Quiet Space . Superb view and 4g fast Need 4x4 or good clearance to take the last piece Of Road but there are slots as Well on the main Gravel road
Awesome views no shade but not a problem really beautiful up here and cell service for AT&T was 4 Nara LTE
Report Check-InThe “path” or road back in here is WAY slanted to the downhill side. Also the rugs are fairly deep. Lifted Tacoma or 4 runner okay… high top van. Was a no go for me. Yikes… if you tip over out here, good luck!
Report Check-InI forgot to mention that it IS windy. Big rigs are a "no go". Also have 5 bars and mobile data with Cricket service.
Report Check-InGorgeous 360 views! It's 1827 on a Sunday and there are no other cars here. It is a gravel road, then you turn left onto a dirt path that is slanted, but doable. Luckily a short distance. We have a Toyota 4Runner with regular tires. Just go slow.
Complete exposure, so come during sundown. Definitely recommend!
Report Check-InThe TILT is real y’all! But totally worth it - 360 views of the mountains, just a mile off of the highway. Gorgeous spot for a sound sleep. Very windy!
Report Check-InBeautiful views all around you but very windy. Was able to make it up there in our 4x4 sprinter van. Just be extra careful in the road because it definitely slants quite a bit. We took it very slow and was ok.
Report Check-InEasy to find. That slant gets ya. It’s about 15 degree. Very windy, nice view
Report Check-InNice flat spot off of the dirt road up in the hills. Nice views, very quiet. Short stretch of the path from the main dirt road is a bit slanted as some mentioned. Exercise caution in tall rigs, was no problem for my Ford Escape.
Report Check-InNice hilltop view, road works well with my higher clearance van (short distance) but great stop on the way thru.
Report Check-InBeautiful view! Accessed at night which was terrifying for the slanted road however made it through with a Toyota 4 runner. Woke up to a lovely sunrise with great views. Perfect for the night. No snakes or wildlife sighted.
Report Check-Intried but the short road in is slanted. we didnt want to tip over. not rec for big rigs or tall vans!
Report Check-InBeautiful spot but be very wary in wet weather. I got stuck after it poured all night and had to be winched out of the mud in the short dirt road that connects the site to the gravel road.
Report Check-InGreat place but very windy. Arrived at night. Woke up to find a beautiful view and cows nearby. Saw 1 pronghorn Antelope too.
Report Check-InBeautiful views. It was easy to spot a previous campfire site so I felt good about being in the right place. Pretty windy, but very beautiful 360degree view. Saw one car drive up and another on an ATV but otherwise it was empty
