Description

Amazing atmosphere at this beautiful hostel. It is located really close to the main surf point. We were able to stay in the secure parking lot with our Truck camper. The owner Rasty and his wife Julie like the idea of overlanders at their hostel. Over the next two months they are planning to build showers and toilets for overlanders.
As per now they offer cabanas and you can use the toilet at the restaurant. The restaurant on site offers delicious healthy food. Furthermore they offer yoga classes (free for paying guests) and surf lessons. There are hammocks on the lovely property for your use as well as decent WiFi. We were able to fill up with water and plug into electricity as well. The entrance is large enough for big rigs, but there is a tree that you need to navigate around which can make it challenging, but doable. Lovely spot!

Report Check-In

This would be a great place. However, they do not allow ground tent camping, only rooftop tents.

Report Check-In

Had to come here a couple of times to recharge our batteries, since it was cloudy for weeks and the solar panels were useless. Glad we came, because it is a fantastic place and the people is great.
No problem to fit our 6m van, longer vehicles may be tricky to fit in if there are other cars.
Still 8/13usd (great breakfast for the 13usd option)

Very nice place. The option including yoga and breakfast is great (still USD 13). Very close to the beach. Great communal area with hammocks. Only downside is that you stay on the parking lot: when there are many guests, it can get crowded.

best spot ever!!! amazing atmosphere, awesome food and breakfast, plenty of hamacs to relax... just next to the beach, good waves to surf!
$8/person/night : hot shower and toilets for ioverlander, access to the hamacs
$13/person/night: you also get the breakfast and yoga lesson! breakfast is a good option cause it's very big and you're not hungry until dinner.
you have to go to montañita just to enjoy the balsa surf camp!
be aware: when you get there you can't leave!! we wanted to stay 1 night and finally stayed 8...

Small parking lot, it will not fit big rigs at all. We did ok with our rooftop tent in a pickup truck. The staff was very welcoming. Our dog was welcome, facilities are in great shape, they even have a cinema. A few steps from the surf break.

Owner is Super nice, let us stay even though the hotel was closed for repairs for two weeks. They opened up a bathroom for us for showers. $8 per night per person, 4 year old free. Let us feed the turtles Everyday, and the staff were Super friendly. Although the town is known for partying, during Low season it seemed really tame, we had very quiet nights.

Nice place but extreamly expensive for what they ofer. Only stayed one night payed 8$ pp. Luckely our friends had a room so we could use their shower and toilet. Otherwise there‘s the restaurant toilet and a cold shower you can use. Yoga is an extra 7$ for camping guests and breakfast an extra $6.
carfull with laundry we miscalculated because you pay per pound and not kilo. We ended up paying 18$!
