Ehh... could be a nice place, but we did not see much of it: Foggy all night, a little less foggy the next morning. Lush greens, with flowers, lots of birds (but few flies). Truly a nice break from the desert all around here.

Camping is basic: pit toilets only. Unfortunately, there were 'music lovers' on the other campsite who went to sleep at 2:30 am.

There is a hike, described in the brochure, but we skipped it as there was only 5 meters visibility.

Price is steep: 30 Soles per person per 3 nights, even if you only stay one night.

Report Check-In

We arrived on a Friday afternoon at 4 pm and had the whole place for ourselves. We paid 30 soles pP (15 entory, 15 camping). As far as I understood, you can stay up to three nights for that fee. Bring enough water and you‘ll love the place. Totally quit and secure, close to the Panamericana but in the middle of nature with great views. We had no problems with flies or fog at this time of the year. Unfortunately we had not enough time to stay for a second night.

Report Check-In

They asked 60 Soles pp, together 120, for entrance and camping. They said this is the new price (for foreigners)... so we left! And as mentioned before: houndreds of flies in our van!

Report Check-In

Campamento 2. Camping area with only picnic benches, braais and a longdrop toilets. Many, many flies. We visited in the dry season and made a good walk along the trails, although the area was not at all green and dry. Because we could spend the evening outside the camper we had less problems with the flies than expected. We arrived Sunday noon. The place was almost deserted and reasonably clean. All in all not a bad stay. PRN 20 (2 adults, camper + PEN 20 park entry fee).

Report Check-In

Arrived late at night on Christmas and the place was deserted. Gate was closed/locked. We slept in the parking lot outside. Was quiet and safe.

Very nice place (every place is nice, when you leave Lima!). You have only 4 hours in the afternoon to see the lovely landscape, all the other time it is very foggy. The flies are annoying. And the foxes are begging for food.

Report Check-In

We came, we paid the 20 soles pp, we saw, we left.
Got our money back at the gate

Report Check-In

we visit the place on a wekend. not a good idea. it was crowded, and the peru people turned the Reserva Natural in to a fun park. after they left we had the feeling to be on a rubish dump. the road inside the park is not wider then 2,50 meter so it is hard to pass each other. there is a lot of foog and the natur is very nice but there are also thousends of flees like in the australien outback, but they don't bite.

Report Check-In

Thought this place was hugely overpriced. We paid 10 soles each for entrance and 10 soles each to camp. Pit toilets were really gross. It was quite busy as it was the weekend. The flies were everywhere,as reported below. No rats for us, thank goodness. We would have rather camped at El Paraiso.

Report Check-In

We were prepared for the flies. But the rats were a deal breaker. First we parked up at campsite 3, rats climbed all over the car, so we moved to campsite 2 still the same thing. So at 11pm we drove back to the entrance and parked there for the night. So MANY rats! Yuk!

The flies were here for us, but we loved staying here anyway. It is such a nice place to see wildlife and trees! Super quiet. Paid 20 Soles per adult and it would've been 6 Soles for our (6yo) son, but the ranger didn't have change so our son got to camp for free.

Report Check-In

Paid 20 soles/person. Definitely secluded in the hills a ways back from the PanAm. Very foggy while we were there which added to the mysterious feeling of the place. We were definitely the only ones camping that night and we loved having the place to ourselves. Clean pit toilets. Lots of birds and solitude at a shrub-covered park in the middle of the desert. Flies weren't an issue for us.

Report Check-In

20 soles each, good for 3 days. Nobody else here. Lots of hawks, birds, foxes, flies.

Report Check-In

Lovely spot for a hike and camp... 20s/pp... Word of advice, there are thousands of flies, makes no sense given the landscape, so when setting up, entering or leaving your rig, be mindful of this or spend hours getting them out. The flies should not dissuade you from this lovely area.

Report Check-In

After all that sand along the Panam, this place is paradise. There are tables and barbecue at every campsite. Lots of flies, but none that sting. Entrance fee with camping is 20 Soles per person and you are allowed to camp for three days.

Campsite inside the Reserva Natural Lachay on the way from Lima to the north. We liked it!

Price:21 Soles

Report Check-In

A campsite like a little oasis in the desert. Bench / table combination, bbq, outhouse. From the mirador view of the ocean. Hikes in the park.

(Admission is 10 soles / person and allows camping for three consecutive days. We stayed two days in the park.)
