Large grassy area (perfect for dogs). Very close to the Lee state park camping area where you can go take a hot shower for free before coming here for free! On a little gravy road at your right when coming from the park. There is a big antenna on site.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Park ranger came out and told us we could not boondock here. Have to move spots now after getting all set up. kind of sucks. It would have been a great spot.
Report Check-InEasy to find even in the dark. I didn't drive the road farther out back but plan on checking it out tomorrow when I leave. super quiet. no cars on the road even. No signs stating do not park. I tucked in next to the trees as another user suggested.
Report Check-InQuietest place we’ve been on our trip. We came in around 1pm and stayed overnight. Bugs were annoying until about 5-6pm. Our two dogs loved the area but bugs annoyed them too for a little bit. Really nice place
Report Check-InBeautiful! There is a road that goes deeper into the woods past the tower. Drove a high roof pro master down it and got it turned around. Spent the night in the woods next to an really old abandoned hunting stand.
Report Check-InGPS location isn’t quite right. First little turn off on the road. Missed it at first because looked like a driveway in the dark. Nice quiet place for the night. Stars are beautiful. Sticker plants got all over our dogs when walking them. Generator came on about 7am not too loud but just so you know. Mostly sand and grass so we weren’t worried about sinking. Well maintained. Showers at Lee state park are high quality and rangers and host were very nice to let us park for a couple hours. Also enjoyed scenery of loop road.
Report Check-InKind of a weird spot. It’s a field with a huge antenna and a couple shacks surrounded by chain link fences… but we stayed here and didn’t get bothered. Stayed here before heading to congaree np
Report Check-InGreat spot across the street from Lee State Park where a dump site, showers and toilets are available. This site however is literally a clearing for a huge antenna. There are private property signs on the chain link fences surrounding the antenna and it’s support sites but not on the road leading in and nowhere around the clearing. So we tucked in a corner against the trees and had a quiet night. Although we both had crazy dreams so the microwaves from the site may have gotten to us. :-)
Report Check-InWe spent one very quiet night here. Not 100% sure we can but no one came. If you arrive by night, be very careful of the ditch each side of the path to get to the spot.
