**Camping permit needed**

Across from Island Lake Provincial Recreation Area along Highway 3. Gravel road to the south is Ptolemy Rd. Random camping does not start until 1km from the PRA, ~800m from Hwy 3 down the road.

Report Check-In

This place is not free. You need a valid camping permit (can be bought online) to stay the night in the entire area. Signs are very clear from the moment you turn on the dirt road and more explanations further ahead.

Perfect place to boom. Lots of sites. Travel up the road past the Livingston rec area sign and find a spot along the creek.

im actually up the road a couple hundred feet. quiet, the rivers on the other side of the road, bunch of fire pits all aound. bad fire smoke but tis the season now. 3 bars LTE.

Mint free spot, decent view, small stream very close by, able to have a fire as per conditions, dogs aloud.

Stopped here to sleep for the night, but my dog was sniffing like crazy and not happy so we left. I think this means there’s a lot of wildlife in the area, be careful and keep an extra eye on pets!

Livingstone PLUZ allows random camping but not within 1km of a Provincial Recreation Area. Designated trail system is in effect for OHVs. Map and details can be found on the kiosk not far from Hwy 3.

approximately 6 established sites along the road and streamside, not much privacy, but not much traffic, a bit dusty. we had full bars of Rogers wireless. free. pack it in, pack it out.

Opposite to Parks campground follow dirt road past sign for Livingstone Public Use Area. Pullout at sign has no facilities, but is good enough for the night. Follow gravel road for more established sites.
