Latest Check-Ins

As described, tho we do NOT have 4WD and we did fine to access the (closer/higher) river bank. (Our Westfalia is lifted, but you might or might not need high clearance. I encourage checking it out to determine for yourself.) Absolutely wonderful spot, and peaceful. The highway noise not an issue. Cold at night (mid 30s, November cold snap) but the sun warmed us up in the morning. Woke up and walked along the river with our pooch, met a friendly local walking his dogs—he recommended some other lovely places to check out on the coast. Highly recommend.

Report Check-In

Great spot, tons of room. Minimal noise from the hwy. Creek is low and calm right now in early June.
Super easy to access in my AWD Astro, it does not have very high clearance at all.

Report Check-In

This is a great spot but would not attempt with out 4x4 and high clearance...we have sprinter high roof 4x and got in and out with no problems...only one on the River...so Beautiful!

Pretty rad spot, took my 4x4 toyota van down to the river but didnt go far on the gravel. had no problems with the aforementioned branches. No reception for tmobile or ATT. Rolled one and took a dip with a few friendly locals, only saw one other vehicle dweller. Locals told me place gets pretty busy during the weekend, and sometimes the parties go late and loud so be prepared.

Report Check-In

We thought about skipping this due to some reviews mentioning low hanging branches. We had no problems with our high top sprinter with a roof rack and solar panels. Great gravel bar for the night. Very quiet although a little highway noise. 4x4 recommended and high clearance a must to get down to the river.

Report Check-In

Great place to spend the night. I was the only one there. Pretty quiet despite being close to the highway. Probably need a high clearance 2wd vehicle to get down on the dirt road leading to the rocky beach.

Report Check-In

Great place to spend a calm night. Hidden from the street and almost no traffic noice

Report Check-In

stopped by here but low trees & narrow entrance stopped me entering with truck camper. Picked wild grapes though, tons of them there.

Report Check-In

Great spot directly next to the river with full coverage from 101. Enter from small opening in turnout across from on ramp. Soft gravel/small rocks after the dirt road, but I was able to drive to the end in my 4x4 Sprinter without issues. Saw one other couple staying in a tent next to a small sedan. Very pet friendly.

Report Check-In

A rocky beach great for most care. Creekside with great views. If you have 4wheel drive head down the beach for less hwy 101 noise. No services. Water access. No idea on camping rules but we were fine. No posted signs but suggest you follow the California 8 hour rules.
