Something not right?

Description

Simple, but clean hotel that seems to be used by most NGOs. Has a restaurant and bar. There’s little choice here, so if this doesn’t take your fancy you can always camp in the customs compound. (100,150,300 and 400 BIRR/Room)

We were allowed to camp in the yard. They have a side gate, where we could enter with our truck. It's not a nice place, but for us it was an emergency stop, because we didn't want to camp wild close to the border and it was already dark. Payed 250 Birr.

Report Check-In

at first we had one of the huts made of bamboo. at dark one of the sewer collection trucks was emptying and it smelled terrible, not to mention the noise. then there was no water in the room.
complaining they kept saying to wait. they don't do anything about the water unless you follow and bother them. after an hour they wanted to move us to a room in the building and saying it was 1000 birr.
in the end we moved rooms and didn't pay extra.

don't stay in the bamboo huts.

Got only the room for 400birr. Room is nice. Restaurant staff tried to overcharge. Paid 50birr for egg with bread and another 50birr for vegtables with bread, Beer was 20birr. The waiter just shooted out random prices. Calculated in front of him and gave him the cash. Afterwards a other guy wanted tip. We laught it off that tip belongs to people who say the corect price first. Friendly and nice staff overall! No mosqito net. Lots of them in the room.

It’s okay hotel. The room was very big with 2 big beds. Clean bedsheets. We paid 500, single was 400.
Restaurant has good food but before ordering check the prices in menu. In the evening when we arrived, we didn’t ask for prices, just ordered spaghetti with tomato sauce. We paid 100 for it. In the morning we checked menu that said 35 and but the waiter said it’s 50.. We got the exactly same dish that the day before and it was half price. I complained and the guy came and returned the money saying that he’s new here. I don’t think that was true but at least he did return it. Otherwise staff friendly.
WiFi worked on and off but when working it was pretty good.

Typical border hotel in typical grubby border town. Double room in poor condition with broken furniture. En-suite but no running water in hand basin. Bed acceptable, lots of mosquitoes and no net. Staff unfriendly and not overly helpful. Tried to overcharge for meal but we argued and price halved. Paid 400 birr excluding breakfast. Wifi so poor that in reality non-existent. On a positive note good gated secure parking. It’s a bed if you arrive late at the border. The Moyale Members Club situated between the 2 border gates behind the Kenyan immigration building looked like a better option but we don’t have first hand knowledge.

good clean place but dont take room with shared bathrooms!!! Weak internet, lots of parking space, gated and secured. Good breakfast. we paid 400 birr for double room.

Report Check-In

paid 400 for a room. clean and secure. parking in front of hotel.

Report Check-In

We paid 400 birr for a room with a double bed and hot water. Two warnings about this place. 1) Bring insect spray. There were many mosquitos in our room and an inadequate mosquito net with holes in it. 2) Be careful to check your restaurant bill. Consult the menu before paying. Our waiter overcharged us by about 200 birr for our dinner and we were too tired & too new to Ethiopia to realize it until after we’d paid. We ordered and ate “bayonetu” but the waiter claimed he brought us “arrosto” which was the most expensive item on the menu

Cheapest room was 200. Room was a touch crappier than other ones I've seen but the shower worked. Food was decent and staff friendly.

Rooms 100,150,300 or 400 Barr rooms, security, pool tables, restaurant and bar with cold beer! Friendly staff.

unfriendly staff
Always check your bill !!

Probably best option in town. We camped in the back (rooftent), 100 per tent. There are also rooms available without toilet and shower, 130 per room. Good restaurant, but toilets are horrible! Ask them to open a room for toilet and shower use.

Clean, comfortable hotel with good, cheap restaurant: friendly, helpful staff, with parking which is guarded and locked at night. We paid 400Br for a HUGE room with a double bed and two singles, all with mozzie nets, en suite bathroom included. LOADS of mozzies. Very bad, but sometimes working wifi
