Big, beautiful, and quiet. Showers are OK. Really big campground, mostly empty. I will definitely be back. It’s a great place to take a few days off of a busy travel schedule.

Here. The spaces were generously sized. Nice hiking trails pretty good park. A little bit of tree cover for those who were using Starlink and not great cell reception.

Easy online registration and payment. Checked in at park offices where pleasant staff provided me with map and windshield receipt. Parked my van in tent site. Most spots were occupied with families. Restrooms and shower clean. Trails were well marked and easy. Quite a few dogs but all leashed. T-mobile cell signal mostly nonexistent during my stay.

Considering it was a holiday weekend, the park and restrooms were clean and the park staff worked diligently to keep it that way. The tent sites are very close together and you can hear everything your neighbors say. Nice park with lots of history near the original Texas colony. 5 miles of hiking trails through 3 different ecosystems. $15 total camping fee and vehicle fee with State Park pass discount.

Great campground for winter weekdays, but it's very busy on weekends. Highs in the 70s and lows around 50 when we were there. Not great for solar, although we were able to get some for a few hours each day using our suitcase panel. Bathrooms and shade structures have external outlets, which is what a used to recharge our battery on rainy days. Plenty of easy walking trails. Everything is clean and well-maintained, and the hot showers were excellent! Water-only sites are $18/night. State parks pass waves the $4 daily entrance fee. 2-3 bars Verizon 4G at our site.

Great over night for tent camping between San Antonio and Houston. Hot showers too! Well maintained.

This place is huge! (More than 100 sites) We arrived pretty late on a Saturday night and the campground was really really busy and the office was closed at 4.30 pm so we had difficulties to find a spot for our mini van.

We had to take a tent site and sleep in the parking in front of the site.
Prices start at 10$ per night (dry tent site) + 5$ per personne for the entrance fees.

Was not really quiet because lot of people and kids and the train.

Nice enough place, peaceful and lots of shade. We arrived late after a long drive, did self check-in (we are State Park card holders) but we're not made to feel very welcome by the 'park hosts' who seem to take care of the place when the official park rangers aren't on duty. There are several toilet blocks, nice and clean but we found only one shower block for the whole park. It's in the middle of the area for full hook-up RVs, a long walk from the other camp spots. $15 for a water only spot, plus entry fee ($6pp) if you're not a card holder.

Nice and quiet, clean. $25 for tent site. Beware, currently this camp has a notice for active distemper. Looks like some nice hiking trails, on a golf course. Loved hearing the owls at night!

Amazing and Beautiful!! We drove in after hours, kind of late, so we couldn’t tell how incredible the area was until morning. Lot of hiking trails, I wish we had been able to take advantage of; maybe next time!! We had no problem finding a good spot. There were a lot of campers, but still a lot of open spots. Full hook up. $25/night. Feel free to check out the pics on our IG acct @motovan496 💕safe travels!!
