Beautiful little lake on national forest land. Easily accessible with any type of car. Enough space for a camper.

Confirmed that this is a wonderful spot to camp. Plenty of water in the lake, so the time of year when visiting will influence the water level. Not only is there water in Red Lake, but there are still snow patches between here and Highway 44.
Report Check-InRed “Lake” is a nice meadow. Stripy lines on the rocks indicate that in wetter times there may indeed be a lake.
Not sure where all everyone parks as the road in is pretty rocky. The road in was well past the lake. The road to the far side of the meadow is presently blocked by a smallish dead tree. Found a side branch to park on which also leads to meadow. Thickly wooded forest. Solar charging would be a challenge.
More like “Red Marsh” but a nice quiet spot near to Lassen Volcanic National Park, which is beautiful! The dot on the map is accurate, but the turn in is from the road south of the point, not the closer one to the west. We turned west from 44, went about 3 miles, then turned right on a little dirt road to arrive in the clearing near the “lake.”
Report Check-Inwe didn't find the red Lake even following the sign, but there are a lot of places along the road where to park a van for the night
