Very basic campsite in park. Great view over park and lakes with Tanzania in the distance. Firewood provided for chopping yourself.

Found everything to be clean. Views limited due to haze and early burning activities in the park. Can be a bit windy during the day, but at night it's calm this time of year.
We enjoyed our stay well enough to be here two nights
Very remote campsite in the Akagera NP. Toilets were dirty, there’s no shower and no other facilities (except for firewood and a barbecue), but the spectacular views, the silence and sunrise make it worth visit, without any doubt. Would definitely come back here again!
Report Check-InAs stated below, there nothing there except some firewood, a shelter, toilets and a stunning view. Sunrise is spectacular. The Price is up to $190 (50pp entrance, 40 for the car, 25pp camping fee). We imagine it being worth the money in dry season, but we would not do it again.
Report Check-InSpectaculair view-clean long drop toilet with toilet paper-fire wood-grassy but no shadow-safe with electric fence-25$ pp + 50$ entry pp + 40$ for the car
Report Check-InGrassy area on top of a hill (spectacular views but difficult to find a flat space), defined by an electric fence. It has one communal picnic shelter, several braai stands, long drop toilets (ladies was NOT clean and you need to take your own toilet paper), a pile of wood to chop yourself for a fire, and a borehole with hand pump. No power, no other source of water and no private cubicles in which to strip wash or use a camp shower (unless you count the toilet cubicles!).
Price is US$25pppn plus park entry fees ($40pppn + $40 foreign registered vehicle).
So basically two European adults and one vehicle is $170 per night, but that is charged per night so does allow you two days in the park - the day you arrive and the day you leave.
Report Check-InAmazing views, park not overly stoked with big game but worth it for the scenery. Camp site now has a borehole hand pump, fire wood more like whole trees left for you to chop up. Sunrise one of the best you could ask for. Most game situated in northern planes, 90 min rugged drive to camp from there. Park seems to have its act together and think it will only get better.
Report Check-InCampsite in park. Great view over park and lakes with Tanzania in the distance. Firewood provided.
