soooooo nice..... as long as you can deal with all the bugs.
slept here three nights. so quiet. beautiful.
Pit toilets, that are never clean and no toilet paper. but that didn't really matter - atleast you dont have to go #2 outside.
lots of room for busses or RV
Report Check-InThis spot was definitely not what I was expecting, in a good way! The drive here seemed a bit sketchy, tons of cows & junk, but once I got to the lake there was a festival going on. I thought it was going to be a boring night but there were tons of RVs, boats , trailers, and vans. There was a concert, booze, food and good people having a good time. Felt extremely comfortable and safe. Pit toilets near by but no other amenities. Good cell service, 3bars at&t.
Report Check-InWe stayed there yesterday on a particularly windy night. There were a few other folks out there. We chose to park away from everyone. Pit toilet, dumpster, and lots of litter. Lots of folks on the eastern plains frequent the lake.
Report Check-InGreat place to camp for a night when traveling through. Few others out there camping but able to be pretty spaced out. The cows make their way over to the lake in the morning & the manure smell also made its way to us but we were headed out so not too bad.
Report Check-InGood for a single night. Pretty quiet and peaceful but we did wake up to cows around us. Nearby Sugar City stunk pretty bad. There is a vault toilet available.
Report Check-InThis is not a good place to camp, there is a Paddle processing plant right next to it which causes it to smell like cow manure horrible bugs Millipede spiders. Would not recommendAlso there is a gate now blocking access down to the lake so you no longer can camp right on the water camping there unless you absolutely have to
Report Check-Inamazing waterfront spot. yes take the 21 route in. we went right and had the side to ourself. no shade. amazing sunsets and sunrises. it was very windy for us! they died down after dark. vaulted toilet we didn't use wasn't clean. fire rings but it was too windy. no trash facilities so pack it out.
Report Check-InDecent enough Lakeside camping. Lots of people with jetskis and boats so kind of noisy all day. No shade and windy. The water is very warm as it's only waist deep out for a couple of hundred feet. Gave up fishing as I could not stop small catfish from taking the hook. They ended up in my crayfish trap. :p
I went right and I think it's a smaller area and a bit quieter.
Report Check-InYou can’t get there by way of google maps following these GPS coordinates. Locked gate with cattle on the other side. Also you have to drive through a junk yard if you go the way google says. Looking for other routes in.
Update: go down county lane 21 to get to the camping area. 2-3 bars Verizon. Grated dirt area for parking and camping and fishing.
We didn’t stay though.
