Report Check-In

The road leading to the park is quite scenic. Entry 50 pesos, camping 250 pesos/person. Basic refugio rooms 700 pesos/person for the weekend (2 nights). Camping area is large enough to stay away from other people. Camping area has no water/electricity/bathroom, you have to go to the reception area which is quite close. There is a basic grocery store. The bathrooms are clean. Camping area is very quiet and far away from all the city lights so be prepared for a visual show at night.

Very nice basic campground with plenty of sites. Hot showers and toilets are available (little walk back to the main parking area). Price: 170 pesos (to be paid at the kiosk).

Lindo parque e limpo.

Report Check-In

We spend here 1 night, completely alone at the whole camping site. There were no other guests. Really nice and quiet nature.
Hot showers are simple but clean like the toilets.
Unfortunately the horse riding and the zip line is only available at the weekend.

Report Check-In

"Are you sure you want to be out there all alone? We (the park rangers) will be leaving at about 19:00 hrs and there will be no other person in the entire park!" For us, that did it. October 9 is off-season: we shared the whole campground only with ... tens of horses.

The short access trail is rocky and a bit muddy in places - a skilled driver could do it with any vehicle, our Land Cruiser was not impressed by this 'challenge'.

Bathrooms are a short hike back (to the parking lot). Most sites have designated fireplaces. No other facilities. Very suitable for bikers, bicyclists and hikers/backpackers. And us (roof tenters).

Yes, there is horse menure, but that won't bother roof tent campers. Ground dwellers may have to clear a spot.

Nice short hiking trail starting from the back of the campground. Too bad we had supplies for only one night.

To just see the waterfall: pay 35 pesos (each person). The campsite costs 150 pesos per person, but a visit to the waterfall is included.

The description is correct though in the off season there didn’t seem to be anyone to pay and the shower was closed - maybe open at the weekend. Dogs are allowed and there is a great 1.3km trail loop to walk.
