Description

This Caravanseria is on the M41 Pamir Highway as the road drops down from the highest pass on the M41, towards Karakul Village and Lake. Visible across the river valley is the fence dividing Tajikistan with Chinese no-mans-land. The mountains rising to the right facing North East are the range which divides Tajikistan from China. It's a good spot to shelter from strong wind for a night.

Good shelter to spent the night out of the wind. we pitched the tent in the courtyard, and a fellow traveler in one of the rooms. With motorcycle coming from Murgab turn off the road just 100m before and it's an easy access to the site. Look out for pieces of glass around the place.

We camped here in one of the rooms on an extremely windy night. It was much warmer and sheltered than being out in the open! It seems to be a popular spot based on the number of campfires. There are rodents, so don't leave food around. There is also a rabbit living in the caravanserai, if the shelter alone was not enough reason to stay!

You can walk down to the river for water, maybe 100m.
