Finally, after 2 weeks, we got gas again! Impossible to get gas south from here. 9k for a US Tank (Gallon).

Report Check-In

We sent a message on WhatsApp but after no response in 12 hours we decided to just drive there. Arsenio happened to be outside and was able to fill our US 1 gallon tank (4lbs) within 10 minutes for 8k pesos.

Report Check-In

As mentioned, Arsenio is the only one who recharges propane tanks and as he knows, he charges almost twice of the recharge for Chileans but it is worth it. He charged us 40.000 CLP for our 10kg Argentinean tank. @modoexplorer

Very nice man. He’s the only one willing to fill your propane bottle when no one else will. It cost us 68.000 pesos, but desperate times meant we were very willing to pay that.

The man is a blessing. given how hard it is to find propane around otherwise. very expensive though. he charged us 68000 pesos for 9kg. He told me laughingly that he is well aware of the fact that he is the only one :)

Report Check-In

Don Arsenio was super helpful. 12000clp for a 3kg Argentinian bottle. It was 1/3-1/2 full, but he charges the full bottle anyway.
Charges via gravity from the large 45kg Chilean bottles.
Knock on the door or call the number from the comments if he is not around.

Mr Arsênio attended us promptly even though it was a Saturday, very attentive, charges a 3kl bottle charged us 9 thousand pesos, fair price because he is the only one who does this service in the region.

Just to update on this kind guy. I just visited don Arsenio in case he could adapt a camping stove of propane to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). He wasn't able to but gave some tips and advises about where to get a lpg stove and what to look for.

Senor Arsenio filled our green German gas bottles.
Nice man but he is expensive.

Report Check-In

Yes!!! After long time of searching, we could finally fill our USA and peruvian gas tanks. Even filled our small stove tanks (USA, too). Quick and simple. So happy! BUT it is super dangerous, especially for the old man's health. There's a lot of gas leaking while he's doing the filling and you get high only by waiting outside. :-D We paid 37 000 CLP for about 11 kg totally.

the correct adress is: Inmaculada 176.

We were in front of his house but there was nobody, we had to call him.
He came in 10min later and was able to load our Brasilian bottle.

27000 CLP for refill a 10 kg Argentina bottle. More expensive than in the south of the Chili... Quick.

Same here. Arsenio is a lovely and very kind old man. It’s true that everyone in the neighborhood knows him. The address is correct so no trouble finding the place.
He is the only person that could fill our european Campingaz bottles (we don’t have an adapter), he has virtually all the connections in the world–many of them handmade. 10.000 pesos for a 3 kg and a 0,5 kg bottles.
He even offered us to have an adapter made for us by a near “craftsman” (we didn’t do it but he told us it would cost aprox 20.000 pesos).
