Sudan
The name is Qasr al-Diaafa, meaning, castle of hospitality.
We stumbled across this deserted looking hotel at 7pm. At first we thought it was closed but quickly found out it wasn’t.
The hotel is quite modern with fans and aircon! Hot showers and cold showers too! Rooms have a fridge and a place to sit.
Best of all, we paid £300 Sudanese Pounds a night.
Secure parking for any size vehicle and shops and markets within walking distance.
See photo for hotel name in Arabic
Also there seems to be a pool in the complex but I think you have to jump the fence to use it, which seems to be the norm
We don't have any photos of this place yet.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Well it was new in 2018 but now it’s already showing signs of decay.
As usual they even bothered to clean it when it was new (still paint all over the staircase) immagine now.
Airco is long gone. You’re lucky the fun works! No mosquito nets and there are lots of mosquitos.
Hot shower is lukewarm.
Toilet didn’t flush properly.
Mattress is terrible as you can feel all the springs hence slept on the floor with my sleeping pad.
Dust everywhere.
Asking price is 500 and the guy wouldn’t bargain. O ther collegue that spoke English rang the manager and we agreed on 400.
Obviously no soap, no toilet paper and no towel.
There is a restaurant but no working not even some cold drinks.
