Very convenient if you're going to take the ferry or just took the late one back to Punta Arenas. Like others said, you can use the bathroom until the terminal closes. It's also right outside the navy base, with some ships and naval items on display to be appreciated. Note that even though you have a reservation, you still need to get tickets within the terminal building. The reservations says to be there 1,5 hour in advance but we found that with 30 minutes there was still plenty of time. Look for dolphins, whales and birds on the ferry!

Report Check-In

It was more or less quiet when we went there. It’s a parking close to the city so there is a bit of traffic, but we were not disturbed.
This is the place with the least wind that we found in Punta Arenas, without being in the middle of the city.
Toilets of the ferry terminal were open.

Campervan here one night while waiting for most chaotic ferry ever. However, probably still better than driving around, that ferry gets even longer lines.
Bathroom closes early. Wife almost got locked in. Bummer on the almost.

Report Check-In

stayed directly in front of the ferry building and nobody minded. toilets were still open at 10pm and again at 7am when we got up so might have been open all night, cant say 100%. a LOT quieter than the waterfront places in the city (no tokyodrifters) and might be able to seek a bit of wind protection depending on who is parked next to you. for us the wind sas totally alright at this spot despite further north it was gusty. recommend :)

Parking du terminal du ferry tranquille et sur.
Pratique pour prendre le ferry de 9h00.

Was pouring rain out and both nearby Copecs didn't work for us. Came here and asked lady in the booth to be sure; all good and there was plenty of room. 4G Entel. Spent two nights here.

Report Check-In

Excellent parking lot, in front of the Naval base entrance with permanent guard so we felt very secure. We ended up staying here over 2 weeks(!) while trying to get our motorhome refrigerator fixed, and then (when that proved impossible) jury-rigging an 12V icebox to make do until we can fix it. No one bothered us. On the negative side, it's quite windy and somewhat dirty, and can be quite busy during the day.

We had a quiet night at this location. Walking distance to zona franca (duty free). Ferry accept credit cards!

Toilets and trashcans can be found at the ferry terminal. Good data signal (LTE!) from Chile WOM and Entel cell carriers. No one bothered us. If you don’t have to stay here then don’t. There were semi trucks loading and unloading at 3:00am! Tons of traffic showed up at 7am to que up for the ferry. The bathrooms were open in the morning but there was a huge line. But it’s free!

Report Check-In

lots of overlanders here ! hard to find a place to park... but we fitted !

Report Check-In

Stayed two nights and is as described. Some cars passing during the night, but felt safe. Lot fills up in the morning. Bathrooms are very clean. Seemed like the best option for free camping in the city.

we stayed overnight at the parking areal to the ferry. no facilities are open over night. the ferry left at 9.00 am and arrived in povenir at 11.00 am . we paid for our big motorhome 82000 pes. plus one passenger 6200 pes.( don't pay more ! , we had to tell them twice we are only a motorhome not a truck. ) , smaller pickup camper or so pay maybe only 39800 pes. , see the price list under photos. they take ONLY CASH money, but you can pay with US$, €URO, ARG PESO or CHILE PESO. we made a reservation at the ferry office 2 days before. there is no wifi here :-((

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Good place to park if you are going to Porvenir on the 900 am ferry. Ticket office opens at 730 am, boarding at 800 am. No facilities except restrooms when ticket office opens. went to two nearest gas stations and neither had WiFi.

Decent place to sleep, lot was full by morning with trucks, RVs, overlanders, and locals sleeping in cars. Police walking around. Seems very safe. Bathrooms in ferry office open 8am

Report Check-In

We stayed a couple of nights while we did laundry in town and caught up on WiFi. Fairly quiet and there were three or four others there each night. No hassles from anyone.
