Cochera Pimentel | Informal Campsite

We stayed here one night and it was fine. Would recommend parking later in the day, the lot starts to empty out closer to 6pm. This is the parking lot of the Hotel Garuda and is VERY popular on the weekend as a place to take showers after a day at the beach. There’s also a little restaurant onsite. The family that runs the hotel also runs this lot, and they’re friendly. The lady charged us 5 soles to park during the day, and 15 soles for camping.

The town is an odd mixture of extremely poor homes and modern villas. The beach is huge and sprawling, on the Saturday we came there were hundreds of people partying. We were told this area is safe, and felt safer thanks to the night guard and locked gates. Not a bad stop on the way south but just keep in mind you will not be alone here until nightfall.

we arrived after 4pm. they let us camp in the parking lot for 15 soles. bathroom and shower is being built right now. for 1 night it's ok. Luis is very friendly and speaks English, let us charge our phones and use the shower of the hostel.

We didn‘t have a good experience. The owner was kind of unfriendly. And in the end our pick-up-camper didn‘t get through the entrance gate. Our car is about 3,40meter high. So we had to leave.

Cochera directly by the beach, good to watch the traditional reed fisherboats. Paid 15 soles for our big rig with over 7 m length and 3 m high, no problem to drive in, owner very nice and speaks english.

A parking lot near Hostal garuda, just across the street from the Pimentel pier. we paid 10soles to stay th3 night at the parking and use cold showers and toilets at the parking lot. The parking gates close at night so it is pretty safe.
