MODERATOR NOTE: Place removed because camping is illegal here. Signs posted and enforced with $500 reported fines.
This is protected land with a very fragile ecosystem. Camping is not allowed below the 1941 water line, anywhere around mono lake, and this historical site falls within that line and is not a legal camping area. As an overlanding local it upsets me to see this location on here.

Several giant rocks block all of the turn outs on this road. Looks like they were placed intentionally to close the turn outs.
Report Check-InSmall pullout along a gravel road overlooking Mono Lake and the well known tufas. It's a bit buggy, but a decent place to park and sleep. Perfectly level spot. Big enough for one, maybe two vehicles. I would not tent camp here. 4G internet service works well.
