This quiet park side street was the perfect location. We ended up staying for 3 days parked under a large tree. Three blocks from the southwest corner of the historical center meant it was easy to walk downtown to restaurants and attractions. It was incredibly hot until 3:00AM so we slept with our generator on. Nobody seemed to mind.

Great spot to enjoy the city. We showed up during Ironman so the main park was closed, but this was an even better and quieter alternative. Police drove around all night and it felt safe. Kids loved the playground. We showed up during a community talent show and got to see a toddler beauty pageant, many TikTok dances, and even cyber goths. Would recommend!
Report Check-InWe only stopped for water. The tap is in a ground box, between the monument and the playground. Of course it is not potable, but free.
Report Check-Inwe parked our car here during the day. felt safe. when we arrived for the evening they where practicing dance moves with loud music on the square. so we moved further next to the church. there we had a quit night. but.... in the morning they sound the bells. we where woken up at 6:45am :) then we slept for two hours more. thats how quit the street is

We thought about staying at the malecón (even cooked there (which turned out to be forbidden)) but decided to go to the side street since it was too loud and busy at the malecón.
When we arrived at the side street there was a fence at the given location (on the next morning we saw that there is a construction side at the moment). but that wasn't too bad, we just drove down the street a little bit and stayed besides the church. All good for one night without facilities.
Tipp: in the little street towards the big Mexico flag is a little paneria with very delicious baguette and cheap coffee!
