Latest Check-Ins

I've stayed here twice now, it's a great area to stay!

Report Check-In

Stayed here one night on 10/12/22. We would have stayed longer but there was a flood watch in the area and given these sites are right by the water we left to be on the safe side. We took the first spot on the right, before you cross the gate and bridge. It was a big spot close to the main paved road. There were some gunshots due to the shooting area at the start of the road nearby, but that didn’t bother us. There were other spots to camp down the road too (two others near the bridge, two or three along the road to the pond, and 3 or 4 close to each other down by pond). The one we chose was the most spacious site which is why we chose it. I’d definitely camp here again. Stayed again on 10/16/22 and 10/17/22 when it was a little rainy and no issues.

Report Check-In

No ATT cell service here. Quiet at night. There is a shooting range here so during the day it can be loud. The gate to access the pond was closed at this time of year. No toilets or trash. Pack out everything

Report Check-In

awesome area. the gate was open so I was able to go all the way down to the very end. definitely suggest going slow if you have a small sedan like I do. pond is awesome to go fishing on not suggested to swim in so says the locals. I arrived on the Sunday and there were some people coming through but very light traffic. the only downfall that I had there were the black flies were out in force. aside from that very picturesque area to camp. it is up to 14 days today for the spruce camping and there are no facilities so keep that in mind is my suggestion.

Report Check-In

nice little spot. we camped at one of the two spots at the bridge since the gate wasn't open yet. definitely a hot spot for shooting, other than that, very quiet. we had ducks visiting our camp sight!

Report Check-In

stayed two nights. wouldn't suggest parking in the first "lot" as gunman from Vermont like to shoot target practice at 7am. but if you keep driving back theres at least 4 spots with room for tents, some with fire pits. no bathrooms but peaceful and quiet. no cell service

Report Check-In

You will pass three sites on the way in but the dirt road ends at 4 sites right on the edge of a desolate pond. There was enough room for our 20' truck camper to park and turn around. Each site had a stone fire ring and plenty of room to spread out. Although quiet, several vehicles did come to visit the pond's edge during our one nite stay. There was no Verizon cell service.

Report Check-In

Similar as described by others. We went all the way to the pond and got a spot of about 5 or so that were there. Quiet night, lots of frog noises. We even saw a moose across the pond. You can hear the firing range at night and some people kayaking. It’s not bad but something to think about if you’re sensitive to that.

Report Check-In

Two decent campsites right off the main road near the bridge. You can hear a little traffic and people do use the gun range(a dirt hill at the entrance). Heard well over 500 gunshots between 7am and noon. These spots are easy for a small rv to get into. If you drive further down the road there are a few tent/small vehicle options along the way and one decent spot for a group, small rv, our van just past the day use area. At the end of the road near the pond are several tent sites and a large site a van or group can fit in. Don’t try to go past the day use area to the end unless your rig is capable of handling rough roads and you are comfortable backing up in tight spaces for long distances.

two good spots right off of 118. I stayed at the spot right on the river next to the bridge for 2 nights. gate was closed when I was there but I hiked down to Elbow Pond and there are 3 spots down at the end right on the pond with awesome views. there's also a good spot a few hundred feet before the pond with a big fire pit. Keep in mind there's a shooting range at the entrance so the 2 spots at the entrance will most likely be woken up from gun fire. I was woken up both mornings but it's didn't bother me

Report Check-In

As described! Lovely and quiet. Dirt road is fine even for non-4wd vehicles

Report Check-In

Well described by others. Two spots just before the bridge and at least one more after (I didn't go past the bridge to see exactly). Fairly quiet with respect to road noise but there was someone near by doing quite a lot of shooting in the evening, luckily stopping around when it got dark. One periodic bar with Northeast Wireless, but often not enough to do anything with so for practical purposes assume no cell coverage here (but just a few min down the road toward the highway there was signal).

Report Check-In

Drove further down the dirt road and there are several other pull outs... a few spots right by the little pond (less than 5 miles in).

Report Check-In

As described. Excellent location. Quite a few folks were here when I arrived late on a Sunday it’s a popular location.

Report Check-In

After looking for a spot further North (everything packed) we were very happy to find an available spot here. Dispersed camping in the National Forest, take it in - take it out & leave no trace. Several nice, clean grassy spots with fire rings around the creek/pond/bridge area, but also some pull-outs along the forest road further in the woods. Even a big gravel parking at the beginning of the road that might fit larger rigs.

Report Check-In

If you enjoy nature, be sure to check out this spot. Calm, cozy, quiet, clean, perfect place to get away. Follow the road and come across areas next to the water to set up camp. Fire pits along side the road. Leave no trace!
