Had really good experience with Alex, can recommend him for maintenance and repair of any complexity.
Was rather sceptical about the place at first, mostly due to the disorder in the workshop and lack of communication. But eventually, after observing quite a while the way the things are get done there, I can confirm that they work in an efficient and robust manner.
I had revised half of the engine of my DR650, maintained the mono-shock & the clutches, and made a lot of small fixes and tunings there. Now, when I write this review, I have about 25 000 km since these works were done - and can’t complain about anything.

One important thing to keep in mind is that you'll probably need some patience here. The thing is that Alex always tries to give priority to the travellers and will probably assure you that the things will be done in a really short terms. But, unfortunately, the way the workshop is organised quite often doesn't allow to meet these deadlines. Once a new client arrives, he would usually get at least some attention - which might stop the ongoing work with your bike. And it's quite a busy workshop.
Yet, if you're not in a hurry, totally worth it. And yeah, the prices are quite fair as well.

For me, it was not the best experience in the long run. Alex was nice and he indeed repaired some things properly, but also did some weird things. For example, his adjustment of the clutch was to put an extra disk (there are 8 disc for friction and 8 disc for the clutch). Checking that in Ecuador, I found that there were 9... It did work but I wonder if it would have ended in something nasty. He replaced the needle in the carburetor, and it was also not the best adjustment. Not sure it was a new one. It’s a bit worn out for just a few 1000s km.
So I can’t recommend him for serious job. Only minor things. Driving a DR650.

I got some things sorted on my Tenere at this place and the service and the mechanics were great. I would highly recommend them to anyone going through Bogota and in need of som repairs/seevice done on their bikes. Doesnt speak much english though, and the area around this workshop is a little rough.
