Description

dam Santa Fe, historic site, has two dams, Santa Fe and sloman, Santa Fe you arrive at the same River Loa.
Edit:
Whilst there is a natural water source, the nitrate pampa surroundings would likely mean it is contaminated water. Unless you can test for and filter out nitrates, best bring your own water. Boiling will only make it more concentrated...

Had a good night here. Quite a few horseflies while we were here though. But not too aggressive which was good. Quite hot until the sun goes down, and then cools off nicely, almost chilly overnight. Walk down the road to explore the dam, kinda interesting. Some garbage now unfortunately, but not unbearable.

Good for the night. Some shade of the trees. Looks like it used to be a more camping/picknick area. Stream is full of plants. In my opinion definitely not potable.
Some horseflies.

Great place 3 km from the main road. Access is easy. Very quiet and beautiful. The stream is visible but not really accessible

Super quiet spot. Nobody at the time of our stay. Some trees but not really wind protection. Horse flyes. No signal. Bit of litter arround. Accessible for all kinds of vehicles.

Perfect spot for one or two nights. Awesome sky at night and so quite. Definitely recommend!

AMAZING camp spot. Good amount of shade, flat, big rig friendly, loads of fire wood, a barrel converted into a fire pit and cooking top, super cute fast lizards EVERYWHERE, clean (away from the dam area) and not a single human being or reminiscence of one. The river was very shallow but swimmable. Water was a bit salty hence better to wash off because it might be saltpeter minerals. Make sure you put your fire off because the surrounding is really dry and the lizards jump into it to get stuff and 2 got burnt sadly🙈. Directions as per other comment is pretty accurate.

We didn't get to the river. We just parked a little away from the road. very quiet and the sky was amazingly full of shiny stars. Nice in the morning too.

Lovely green area (at the bottom of a small canyon)with lots of trees and also a shaded picnic area with tables and seats. Much nicer as an overnight spot than Tranque Sloman, with more flat areas for tents, space for parking larger vehicles. The access road is paved for most of the way (90%), but beware, coming from the south on Ruta 5, the road is a little way past the brown sign on the right, do not bother with the dirt track directly behind the sign. Coming from the north, the access road is actually BEFORE the brown sign on the left! (The access to Tranque Sloman is much better sign posted, which probably makes it busier, certainly by looking at the amount of trash!).
