Report Check-In

Easy to access, pin is perfect! Great sunset/sunrise views and only one other rig the night I was there. Very exposed and fair few bugs at sunset so not ideal if you can't be fully self contained.

Report Check-In

As described. Perfect for a quick sleep when trying to put down miles. On our way to Yellowstone NP from Colorado. Perfect flat areas. 1 bar on Verizon. Peaceful & not far off main road.

pretty much is everybody else described below. I drive a 40 ft class a diesel pusher and have a Jeep Grand Cherokee in tow so overall I'm 62 ft long. 108 in wide. my plan actually was to stay at the Sweetwater rest area but I was kicked out of there by a nice old lady with a red bandana around her neck that needed to go in the laundry sometime soon but thought it was time to move on. this was the next spot on my route. I got here right at sunset. do not come in after dark especially with a larger rig. the turn off into this area is small with ditches on either side not deep but deep enough to cause trouble with my tow. once you make the turn into the dirt road you can turn off and go on to hard packed mud that's currently dried out. I didn't see any cattle in the area tonight. this is a raptor area according to the sign so if you have a small dog don't let him run free. but my German Shepherd weighs 108 lb I doubt they can lift him.
the views are very long and not bad. there's not a tree nearby.
the main thing is to check the weather forecast not only that night but the past couple of days. you would not want to use this if it was wet.
also at sunset there were mosquitoes or some kind of bugs flying around.

This was great for an overnight beautiful view woke up to the cows. We're a big rig with tow and didn't unhich. I would definitely be careful if it was wet. I'm not sure if you'd make it out.

Report Check-In

Hard pack mud in dry weather. Very quiet. Expansive views. Easy access off the highway but far enough down to be quiet. Just a few cows said hello at bedtime.

Report Check-In

Awesome spot. Just park far enough from the little road so that you don’t hear trucks in the morning. Can’t hear the highway at all, no bugs, really nice views. If you have a dog watch out, there’s a couple dead things throughout the field they might want to eat…

Report Check-In

10/10, just like everyone said. Quietest night in a looooong time!

Report Check-In

A great spot. Flatlands, probably muddy if it’s been rainy and presumably inaccessible in the snow; otherwise a straight shot of paved road off the highway. Far enough not to really hear it but flat enough that the traffic is visible in the distance. Poor TMobile service.

Report Check-In

Good spot for a night, maybe 2. Out in the open and quiet, quiet, quiet. Had pronghorn and a fox visit. Gorgeous sunset! 2 bars of T-Mobile.

Report Check-In

Just as described: big flat area just down the road from the highway. Paved road to the open area; can get wavy with some hidden dips so be aware. Great for the night. Free roaming cows moved through the space just before dark. A few cars back and forth from highway to mines. Everyone was friendly. Very quiet at night despite being close to the highway.

Report Check-In

Very quiet. But definitely windy. Perfect for one night in the truck with the pups. Can see the Highway but no noise. Other than the wind. I definitely wouldn’t try it if it’s been wet.

Report Check-In

had no problems getting our 24 ft rv here!

pros: super quiet and we were the only ones here

cons: there's ALOT of cow poop around here lol Verizon I only had 1 bar which went in and out. not reliable cell service

good for 1 night or so!

This pin will take you to the exact location. Just turn onto the gravel road and there's an open space right there. The road is in bad shape once the gravel ends and there's no where to camp back further. The pin for Mineral X BLM camping on Google Maps is actually private property, as we were notified by a local man. There were a few cows grazing nearby and lots of cow pies around. Some spotty Verizon coverage without booster but it was solid with one. No AT&T with or without booster.

Report Check-In

This was the perfect remote camping spot not too far from the main road. Google maps says it’s “permanently closed” but we found the place and it was nice and flat and there was no detection of it being permanently closed.

Turn off the freeway onto ‘Oil Road to Mines’ and drive down the old but paved road. Little ways down you simply drive off the road onto a dirt road which leads to an open area about 100 yards off the road. It’s actually labeled on google maps as ‘Mineral X BLM Campsite’ if you zoom in enough. We pulled in at night and spent the night, no problems.

A big flat area a couple minutes off the highway.
