Description

Down Forest Road 7116 about a mile south of the Minuteman Missle site. A flat area with Clay hills. Was recommended by Grasslands Visitor Center in Wall. Easy dirt road access in our 2 wheel drive van. Not recommended during rain, the clay can become impassable. We were all alone on a Saturday night. Beautiful sunset and stars!

Great spot! Definitely recommend if you’re visiting the Badlands. Very quiet and secluded, no one else was here. Easily passable with 2 wheel drive as long as it’s dry out

Beautiful and remote. It's incredibly hot at the moment, but the dunes are large enough to provide shade relatively early in the evening unlike any of the other sites I passed in the area.

Some sections along the road are starting to get washed out. Barely cleared a few spots with my hatchback. Once I arrived, i stepped out and was immediately covered in mosquitos. (At least 20 were on me within 10 seconds.) Ran back to my car and ended up just parking on the side of the road near the freeway exit.

Amazing spot!!
Quite possibly our favorite so far but come on a dry day as I can see this being very muddy & hard to get out of if it rains.

Super private (no one else), 1-3 bars verizon service, found 2 fire pits around. At night the mosquitoes are agressive, but during the daytime they are totally gone! We went during a hot 90 degree day but it wasnt too bad w the doors open and fan on, breeze was strong.

Got to watch ranchers herd up the cows from afar and a coyote came near our site in the morning.

I camped on the fence line just after the cattle guard because it was about to storm. I backed up to the right on the high side, a bit sloped. the clay mound area looked good for dry weather

Fantastic! Very private, plan on no one else being around. Had a nice bike ride on the roadway towards the Badlands. Stayed here two nights.

Was gonna go to a boondocking site marked on Google Maps, but this was closer. Quiet & peaceful after a long day of driving. Only one other van here. Spacious. Came on a dry, chilly night & had no issues driving my little Chevy Sonic back here. Bring a hammer or mallet for your stakes if tent camping.

Super beautiful views and we had the place to ourselves!

wide open space to sleep for the night. spotty cell service. 1 other van showed up but just looked around and left. right off the highway but very quiet.

10/10 spot! Beautiful and secluded area while still being conveniently close from the highway. Road was bumpy but could still navigate my Subaru Outback towing a 6x12 cargo trailer camper. Plenty of room for multiple vehicles Mosquitos were dreadful but dissipated after the sunset. Beautiful stars.

When all those yuppies at Badlands take up the sage creek place, those seeking solitude should head hear. Quiet, out of the way. COME DURING LIGHT if you have low clearance. Not big rig friendly. Just you, and nature.

This was my first time using a dispersed campsite. I got in after dark and stopped driving when I got to the clay hills. My view was ok but not as good as a lot of reviews have mentioned, probably could have found a different spot if I was willing to drive around in the dark. Spotty t-mobile service but I was able to turn in an assignment online and do research for my day in badlands well enough. Stars would have been spectacular if it weren’t for the smoke from the west coast.

This is NOT big rig friendly, we got stuck on the cow grates with our 24' class C between the missile silo and the site.

Breath taking. No amenities, water, electric, sewer, wifi etc but a million dollar view. Easy access. Safe. Very friendly campers. Had a blast making new friends. Covid or not so very glad we came. Will return again without a doubt. Gorgeous sunrise, and sunset. Sitting within the Badlands. Cant say enough about the view. 5 stars plus. Oh forgot the stars.....wow!!!!

Beautiful, bison, long horn sheep, very quiet and I mean very. Is under stairs. Coyotes running kind of scary there. Recommend. Do not walk over fence it's a drop. Fell in hole. It's a ditch. Beautiful views. Have to walk.

Loved this place great view, we spent five days here watching the bison cross the land and the Bighorn sheep cross the land
